Curious to get fellow Rivian owners' take on the center display, specifically the drivetrain display area. This is the largest single area on the center display, and it simply shows power in green going to whichever wheels, along with the direction of turn. This to me seems so large and a total...
Except the bulk of reliability issues have nothing to do with Rivian’s new tech or advanced EV stuff. The reliability issues are as to all the other basic stuff that can and should be done way better.
Been through all of this with my late 2023 G1 R1S. Bottom line: a few things can be done to improve it at the margins, but the harsh noisy suspension is "normal" for these vehicles. Yes, it sucks and it needs to be redesigned, dampened, etc. etc. moving forward. We are early adopters of a new...
Update: back from Boise "service center" (really just an elaborate warehouse with a 20 something year old kid and a laptop and cell phone with a single repair technician and about 15 vehicles sitting around). After some pushback, insisted that they do the knuckle hub procedure, which, although...
Be fully aware and fully appreciative of the fact that you are buying a new vehicle without a long track record from a fledgling company without longstanding infrastructure in place, including the service aspect. I have personally found the service center in Boise is very hard to work with...
Thank you so much for this information. Exactly what we needed. In your experience, what finally forced the SC to do this repair? I got the feeling that unless the tech could hear a "chirp" in the suspension they would not to the k-h repair??
2023 build (vehicle in service as we speak so don' have access). But yes, I specifically asked them to check to so-called hub to knuckle bolts. I think the bottom line is that these otherwise super awesome vehicles have really crappy suspensions and the company can't really fix it in past...
Literally took it into the service center this morning. No word yet. The vibe I get is that they will try to say it is all normal. I am coming to believe that the suspension on these vehicles is simply a poor design that is inadequate to handle the weight of the vehicle over slightly rough...
Yes, exact same issues with my Gen 1 R1S! Mine have a risen at roughly the same time that you report yours have. I do have a service appointment next week so I'll repost an update. Suspension rattle has become so bad that my wife remarked that it sounds like an old 20-year-old SUV. And, like you...
What have others found the sweet spot is for regen when descending a long sustained grade in terms of maximizing regen? Put it in high with more throttle and presumably more regen, or standard and presumably less throttle?
Early adopters have all purchased. Now the target is early mainstream. Tougher nut to crack, particularly with all the right wing anti ev spin, thus more incentives in various forms.
