Curious to get fellow Rivian owners' take on the center display, specifically the drivetrain display area. This is the largest single area on the center display, and it simply shows power in green going to whichever wheels, along with the direction of turn. This to me seems so large and a total waste of space. It's nothing that one uses or cares about during day-to-day driving which is what 90% of the driving of these is for us. If you swipe it the other way it's just a worthless image of a Rivian. Am I missing something here? Seems like so many better things could be used for this main large center area. What say you all?

I enjoy that wheel power graphic. And I did find it quite useful to understand what was going on when my car bugged out and was pushing with one corner while simultaneously regening on the other 3 corners.

I am also all I for more data. If they need to free up space to show more data then I would be ok with a smaller graphic.

But I have been assuming that the limited data is because they don't want us to have more data rather than a lack of space on the screen to show it. The more data they give people the more data there is for people to misinterpret and complain about.

If the choice between is a big graphic or empty space, I vote big graphic. But if more data is an option then yea, give us more data.

No it's not a waste of space, because I don't usually have it on that screen except to change modes. I keep it either on music or map. If I need the GPS it's on map, but if not it's usually on the music screen.

Personally, I don’t have a problem with center power display. However, considering there is a fair amount of wasted space on this display, why the hell did Rivian decide, with the latest software update, to reduce the font size on some key info, like the efficiency data in the trip meter? I don’t know about others, but I watch this particular item all the time. Now, I darn near need reading glasses to read it. It is very distracting. Hopefully, they will correct this ASAP, as I can’t imagine any rational reason for this font reduction.

Speaking of font size and wasting space, why is the very largest font used for the Gauges and Trailer buttons at the top of the display. These occupy a large horizontal dead space that takes up about 15% of the vertical display. I’d guess that 90+% of Rivian owners never or very rarely, tow anything. Why is so much real estate dedicated to these two items. Yet, some of the more useful data is in a barely legible micro-font?

I just wish I could make the font bigger, and a large clock widget would be SO wonderful!

If you're on the "Gauges" display, then presumably you WANT a ton of data. That's literally the overflow for that exact purpose. IMO the latest update making the truck graphic smaller really brought to the fore the fact that there is a lot of unused white space on that screen, and I'd prefer it to be filled with more (or more prominent) info about what is going on.

They should really the info on the right side bigger. Case in point, the A/B Trip and reset buttons might be the smallest touch targets in the entire UI? As a comparison, the old media/map/call volume buttons were already 4x larger and Rivian still recently quadrupled the size of those.

I'm OK with the overview screen being a nice wallpaper pic of the truck. That's the user choice - less cluttered with a nice image, or packed with all the info you need.

They shrank the image down in this last update, so you got half your wish at least.

I'd like to see all the widgets on that page be configurable. It'd be nice to be able to choose what ones you want displayed. I'm sure Rivian could make that happen somehow.

The pretty pretty picture of your Rivian (when you aren't looking at the Gauges) animates and changes when you change suspension heights, road feel settings, etc. I find it a little handy when doing the former, because I don't have to dig into the manual to know the ground clearance or height of the truck. I don't use it that often, but it's handy info if you can't memorize it...

Regarding the "Gauges" and "Trailers" options, in the Gen 2 Quads there's also an option for the RAD Tuner -that totally replaces the Gauges when selected - which needed a way to be accessed, this was their decision.

I'm in agreement that they still need to tweak all the font sizing & sizing for other elements (they did in fact go too small), but it's not some massive travesty or anything. Just something that needs to be looked into and improved.

If they will not put a trip meter/odometer on the driver's screen, could they at least move the current trip meters/reset info to the left of the center display?
