  1. App 2.7.0 released

Anyone else have issues with thr app stopping and wanting to close when planning a route in the app? I have a Pixel 6 Pro, not sure if it's just me.
  2. Max Pack worth it for towing?

I wish someone would invent a tow dolly of some sort that goes between the truck and trailer that has the extra battery capacity. I don't need to haul that extra battery around all the time and when not towing I could use for backup power for my home.
  3. Snow Mode / Regenerative Brake Assist observation

For those that have used it, is there any indication on the dash the friction brakes are being applied?
  4. Software Update 2023.50 -- Scheduled battery preconditioning & other useful improvements!

I wonder what the blended braking will do while towing. I have seen regen limited going down a long grade with the trailer. I wouldn't want the truck to just apply brakes without applying the trailer brakes at the same level.
  5. Fire Extinguisher usefulness

Thanks all, I appreciate the conversation. I think you all confirmed what I was thinking, this little extinguisher isn't going to do anything. We don't have a smoke detector or heat sensor right now, but will get one ASAP.
  6. Fire Extinguisher usefulness

Curious to hear what others think about this. My neighbor's house burned down Wednesday (yes, related to turkey cooker, but he wasn't cooking yet and I suspect there was some faulty connections that led to this tragedy, and everyone is fine). He had two ICE vehicles in the garage where the...
  7. WDH for towing travel trailer

Rivian says in their manual to use a WDH of the trailer is over 5000 lbs. I use a blue ox for my trailer. Luckily the Rivian and my F350 hitch hight are close enough I don't need to move the hitch when swapping vehicles.
  8. OTA 39.3 Released [Added: Video of Halloween Theme]

Took me a lot of scrolling to realize this was from last year. Not sure about the 2023 Halloween update.
  9. Does your power tonneau cover still work

Me too! I hold my breath every time I open or close it. It pops and clicks and makes all kinds of scary noises. I have to push it while it opens to get it to open all the way. I wish it worked better.
  10. Seattle to North Lake Tahoe-Guidance Needed

You would miss a lot of the scenery you're after, but you may have to come down I-5. You can cut over to the north of Sacramento through grass valley.
  11. What is your R1’s name? 🙋🏻‍♂️

I asked an AI internet tool what I should name it, it suggested something related to nature or feature close to where I live. I live in Reno with the Truckee river flowing though it so I named the R1T "Truck-e".
  12. Automakers are starting to admit that drivers hate touchscreens. Buttons are back!

I'm the same way, I figure Google already knows everything about me, I don't need to share that with Amazon too. Although I'm sure they have a pretty good amount of data on me even with Alexa.
  13. Orvis Tough Trail Hammock Seat Protector installed

This is the same one as me but with the large. It is great and my anxious lab loves it. I have the hose off version and it is due for a hose off. Got this one because she's a lab and has a 5-mile water/mud detector.
  14. 1,000 Electrify America Chargers Coming to 200 TA Rest Stops Across the U.S.

I'm surprised it's taken this long for businesses to figure out that a bunch of rich EV drivers need a place to kill 30 minutes with their disposable income. Hopefully more to come. And with trailer stalls.
  15. Phone as a key PAAK ~not working: "Present a key to start your drive"

My wife had this issue yesterday, almost got stranded at work but she had the backup key card with her. We had to update permissions with the app update to allow the app to use the phone as a key. Open the app and pull up the option screen (like where you precondition the truck), that is where...
  16. Compiled payload ratings for R1T (GVWR, GAWR, Payload Stickers)

I don't have easy access to the trailer now, but airstream says the GVWR is 7300 lbs with a net carrying capacity of 1700 lbs putting an empty trailer at 5600 lbs. The only bigger mod I've done with mine is replacing the heavy lead-acid batteries on the tongue with lithium under the front bed...
  17. Camper for the R1T -- what can I safely and reasonably tow?

I'd recommend renting a trailer or two from sites like outdoorsy or similar in your area. I have towed a few times with the Rivian and it's a dream until you have to find a charger that fits a trailer. I could make longer trips work, but the F350 Diesel is paid for and looks good sitting in the...
  18. Compiled payload ratings for R1T (GVWR, GAWR, Payload Stickers)

I ran through the CAT scales with my 25ft front bedroom airstream. The trailer had partial tanks filled, the truck bed was empty. Looks like I have about 300 lbs to spare. I have the 20" tires and a spare in the bed with the power tonneau. I should have dropped the trailer and gone through...
  19. How do you get in your R1? (PaaK, FOB, Card, crowbar, windows...)

The only time I had an issue with PAAK is when I was chatting it up and left my phone in the sun and it shut off due to the heat. Fortunately I carry the key card in my wallet for backup, otherwise would have had to wait for my phone to cool down.
