I updated last night. This morning, while driving, me: "Hey Rivian, what is the tire pressure?"
Rivian: "The tire pressure is 0 psi."
Me: "Hmmmm. Seems to drive OK despite that."
After parking: "Hey Rivian, what is the tire pressure?"
Rivian: "The front left tire pressure is 50 psi. The...
I had a ride in an R2 last week. I thought the suspension felt "tighter" and quieter compared to the pneumatic suspension on my '24 Gen 1 R1T. I thought the R2 body fit and finish was better than on my R1T, too, especially at the front corners of the hood. The R2 had plenty of acceleration.
On my 2024 R1T PDM Large I found that the climate controls wouldn't retain button presses after the update. For example, if I pressed the Recirculate button, it would activate and I could hear a relay click, but it would deactivate as soon as I removed my finger. This issue persisted through an...
Of course Rivian is addressing it -- because I pushed, and I shouldn't have to. The error was blatantly obvious and preventable. It shouldn't take a multi-week "process" to fix it, either.
If you have your truck serviced, be sure to open all doors, lids, hatches, and everything else you can inspect when you pick up the vehicle. I had mine serviced, did not inspect, and now I have an issue. The SC left off the entire cowling panel in front of the windshield. How does this happen...
Mercedes 190D diesel. Fred Flintstone's feet had more horsepower. It had a cool mechanical rising temperature scale speedometer, however. Traded up to a 220D with not much improvement. If you could clutch from a stop on a steep hill without stalling, you could clutch anything.
My 12V battery warning showed up two weeks shy of the one-year ownership anniversary and mobile service replaced it. The date code on the original was 2022, so the battery was already two years old before the truck ever hit the road.
Sadly and I hope unrelated, my rear drive unit crapped out...
Here's a donated bandsaw on its way to the local high school robotics program. It's a lot heavier that it looks, due to the retrofitted gearbox and motor to make it suitable for cutting metal.
And now my PTC bedrail button doesn't work. It worked last week and the dash screen control still works. I am going to try a soft reset if sleeping didn't fix it........ on edit, soft reset did not fix the issue. I am guessing the issue is the switch itself.
And on another edit - aha, all doors...
Got mine installed a week ago in San Jose. It took overnight. I received my truck in June ‘24. One disappointment was that bed side rail covers were not fully seated. A few fist bumps fixed that.
The San Jose SC added the hub bolt torque check to my tonneau installation visit yesterday. Having heard about the issue on the forum, I crawled under and visually and hand checked the bolts a couple months back and didn't find any issues. All the bolts had a pink verification stripe, for what...
Get a blower door test to find and fix all the leaks in the ductwork and house envelope. Leaks are by far the biggest waste of heating and cooling power.
Five Points Tire in Redwood City has been my go-to tire and alignment place for 30 years. They are locals, one guy coached my son's Little League, etc. However, I have not had to worry about tires and alignment yet on my R1T. I would call Five Points and find out how familiar they are with...
You can buy "We bought this car before we knew he was crazy." bumper stickers. I don't think I've seen any on vehicles associated with Henry Ford, RE Olds, or RJ Scarange. I'm one data point, but I replaced my 2016 e-Golf recently. I shopped i4, EV5-9, Mach-E, Lightning, Genesis, Lexus, Audi, VW...
