I love my nAT 22’s on my Tri-R1S. After 13K miles, road noise is OK (it is an AT tire), range is good (396 mi estimate at 100% in conserve mode). I have these as my 3-season tire and am confident in snow with these tires. I live in Tahoe, so I have to deal with a lot of snow and rain. My winter...
I’m running the Nokian Outpost nAT on my R1S tri. I did the research and these are the best performing AT tires in the snow. They are louder than I would like, but they perform well and I get good range.
I live in Tahoe and use these as my 3 season tire. We can get 2-3 feet of snow in one...
My favorite 3-season tires for EVs is the All-Weather Nokian WR G4. I have used them in snowstorms with 8" of snow (I live in Tahoe) and have driven to the desert in temps of 120F. Great ride, low rolling resistance (3% difference in range compared to my stock Tesla MX tires), performance...
Selling my original all-season stock tires that came with my 2025 Tri R1S Range wheels.
These tires are new - I swapped these tires out for my studded winter tires the day after I picked up the car.
$800 for the set of 4 tires
Pickup in Sunnyvale
Will ship via FedEx (estimate $50/tire)
I have already posted to this thread about the Gen2 R1S Tri… Sunnyvale to Truckee during the winter on one charge, driving 75MPH when traffic allowed. I drive in conserve mode to Auburn and then switch to All Purpose mode or Snow mode depending upon conditions. I have the worst case scenario -...
I have a Tri R1S with 22” Nokian studded winter tires. I have driven from Sunnyvale to Truckee (225mi) 4 times this winter without needing to charge. I arrive with around 15% SoC (from 100%). I use conserve mode until Auburn, and then switch to All Purpose or Snow mode depending upon conditions...
I was experiencing the same before the last update. It is gone after the update, but some other bugs have been introduced - like being prompted to reset multiple times per day
Another option is the ShockFlo G1 Level 2 Portable EV Charger - 40A. It has a button to change amperage, comes with a wall mount and can be taken on road trips. Uses NEMA 14-50 plug. I had this mounted in my garage, along with a Tesla home charger for the wife’s car.
The EV Tax Credit is a red herring. I believe RIVN can survive that with a price or lease rate reduction.
The elephant in the room is the California CARB credit trading for ZEVs. Rivian has $300M earned in 2024 by selling those to other manufacturers who need it for the California mandate. If...
1. There are a lot of customer complaints regarding premium auto sound quality being sub-par. is this something that is on the roadmap to fix?
2.Swapping wheel sizes (seasonal wheel changes) are a PIA due to the need to go to a SC if you need to change wheel size. is a software update to...
I am getting delivery of my Tri at the beginning of December. Living in Tahoe, I have already purchased my Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10 SUV [studded] (275/50R22). They are the same OD as the stock tires, so your local shop can swap the tires without needing a visit to the SC. The Hakkapeliitta 10...
Rivian and Tesla vehicles are designed to improve over time (via OTA updates). The subscription model allows them to monetize this continuous innovation for those that value said innovation. The demographic of a Rivian and Tesla owner is receptive to this early adopter and/or techie profile. The...
Nokian makes the best snow tires for EVs, and IMO, the best snow tires. Last season, I put on the WRG5 “all weather” tires on my MX and they performed almost as good as blizzak in our last May storm of 26” of snow. This is my 3-season tire for living in the snowy Tahoe area. For winter, I run...
lol. Try living with a Tesla MX. 15MPH max in high mode. That sucks. I am looking forward to my Rivian being able to plow through the snow at 45MPH. Much more realistic. This vehicle is not for show, it’s functional.
