English is not my first language just one of 4 that I speak, but thank you for clarifying. Why does it bother people so much that we would like the option ?? That's all
Maybe this is the problem here - Is there another language that some should be speaking for you to better understand their valid point? Do you have a PhD as well?

The limit is not a joke and is there for a safety reason. Not everyone is as capable a driver as you and needs this feature.

Next time, try presenting with less abrasive entitlement. Rivian did nothing wrong in their Engineering of this system. In some circumstances it would be nice to have it not lower but if you are in those special circumstances you can mitigate it out without posting your original tone.

I can't believe this actually got approved by the Rivian team. 45mph limit is high mode. What a joke, the engineers have the option to appeal to every truck enthusiast yet you run Rivian into the ground with this type of BS. Bravo you have failed every real truck enthusiast and decided to cater to the people coming from a Prius. Of course they love the low level, they were in a Prius!
You don't think the engineers had their reasons? I tell ya, my truck has taken me places no Prius would.

. I was literally told today from a high up Rivian tech that it was to appeal to the quad motor. Do you understand that the the quad motor version allows what I'm asking they unlock for the dual motor?
I have a quad motor and when in all purpose and highest setting it lowers down automatically at a certain speed. I'm guessing it was around 45mph but I wasn't looking at the speed to check.

I'm sure this is done for multiple reasons based on the engineering of the vehicle or maybe even safety regulations. As others said come in with a more positive attitude and ask questions instead of being so aggressive acting like you are better than everyone.

lol. Try living with a Tesla MX. 15MPH max in high mode. That sucks. I am looking forward to my Rivian being able to plow through the snow at 45MPH. Much more realistic. This vehicle is not for show, it’s functional.

Let’s think this through. In high setting, it’s like drooping suspension, you are inducing positive camber, which does not provide stable handling at higher speeds. That’s why it’s speed limited.

Curb the attitude yeah? Acting this way and telling others to “grow up”? Best to not take it further. You’ve done enough damage to yourself.

I can understand that but why is it allowed in quad motor version?? Service tech said it would make no difference to have it also in dual motor

For probably the 20th time...Quad does *not* allow high mode above 45 mph in on-road modes. I have one...accidentally was in high and it limits the speed. Also, not a ducking Prius owner and never have been. Literally owned a lifted and built 4Runner that I traded for the Rivian and am *thrilled* to have the air suspension so I *don't* have to ride around 3" higher all damn day long. My older parents are appreciative of that fact since it's easier to get in and out of the vehicle as a result. If you really need to look down on others from a few inches higher because you may be lacking in certain areas, perhaps a Hummer would've been a better choice instead of a Rivian.

As someone else already mentioned, the way the suspension geometry changes over the height range is likely the biggest reason for not allowing high over a certain speed. In Sport mode you're forced into the lower heights and appropriately adds a fair amount of negative camber (great for sporty driving) vs Standard where they set nearly zero camber. High and Highest result in positive camber which is *not* going to lead to friendly or safe handling characteristics at speed. This isn't a let me do stupid shit thing, this is a CYA thing so they don't get sued or have the feds on their ass.

And again, there's a way to come in here and have silly opinions and be friendly. You did none of that and just chose to be an abrasive person and leaned into it hard.

I need the max battery for towing my boat. I actually just ordered the triple L
Hopefully it helps a little
So you spent $10k for an extra 10 miles of towing range. Pretty useless and I'm glad I didn't wait or waste the money. Loving my QM.

I've read through this train wreck so why not add my own comments, lol?

Btw how long have you all worked for Rivian ?
You're right. I'm sorry. Please tell your higher ups that we would like the 45mph limiter either raised or removed. Thank you.
- Everyone that actually owned a truck before getting a Rivian.
@Truckenthused23, you started off being abrasive and continued throughout the discussion. What kind of responses do you expect? You're simply getting back what you are giving out, but you don't like it.

There are many "real truck enthusiasts" here., me being one of them, driving and/or owning trucks & truck chassis SUVs (i.e. Suburban) since before I could legally drive. A real truck enthusiast *who uses it for real off road use* knows from experience that the higher the truck is the less stable it is, both in handling and ride, and it gets exponentially worse at higher speeds. Over the years, having come close to rolling a truck offroad on more than one occasion, there's no reason *for real truck enthusiasts* to need to go over 45 mph in the highest setting. It's got the worst handling, worst ride, and worst aerodynamics at speed and height. RIvian will not loose many, if any customers because of this.
