  1. Negative Charging Story in Torque News with Rivian Connection

I'll say right up front that I did not read the article. I started looking at the pictures on the website and can easily see that they are both AI generated. They show supposedly Rivian vehicles that are obviously not Rivians and those that look like Rivians plugged into chargers with the...
  2. Got State Farm for insurance? Love to hear from you.

Same here, long time State Farm customer and happy with them. I’ve not had a claim on my R1T, but claims on previous vehicles were handled well. When bought my R1T, insurance was only about $15/month higher than my 6 year old Chevy Colorado that it replaced. I thought that was very reasonable.
  3. Rivian showroom to open in Minnesota

For folks in the upper Midwest, Rivian will be opening a showroom in Edina, MN (a suburb of Minneapolis). No word on dates yet. IMO, some unnecessary worry about fire hazards, but they worked out an acceptable compromise. The fire chief even said the risk of an EV fire is relatively low when...
  4. 2025.26 Update Release Notes

The new release is out now. I got a notice the update was available for my truck about 6 pm CDT. I updated by 6:30. Havenā€˜t driven it yet so I can’t say if any of the updates are noticeable.
  5. New Rivian Video/Ad - “What If?”

By far, the best Rivian commercial I've seen. I hope it gets real airtime on TV and not just a web ad. This would work great in the upcoming NFL season broadcasts.
  6. For my R1T, I think I prefer 2025.06 ride feel/suspension over 2025.10

I agree with DuoRivians' take. For me, my Gen 2 R1T, the ride at slower speeds over cracks and small bumps in the road is more harsh. Highway speeds seem fine, but around town driving isn't as good as before. I tried for full truck reset/reboot. but did not see any significant improvements.
  7. 2025.10.1 Damaged Alexa

The only issue I've noticed with Alexa was her voice was quieter than before. I was able to fix that by turning up the volume using the volume roller on the steering wheel. I just increased the volume while she was talking.
  8. Rivian on home wifi

Yes, my Gen 2 R1T shows up as a Samsung S22 Ultra. The MAC address is 04:c4:61 which translates to Murata Manufacturing in Japan. I don't know is Samsung uses chips from Murata, but that would be my guess.
  9. LIDAR vs Camera self-driving tests

Really fun video from Mark Rober. I wonder how Rivian's systems would compare?
  10. 2025.06 Update Release Notes

Gen 2’s have a camera in the review mirror that monitors the driver. I believe they are enabling that in this update. That camera will verify the driver is paying attention to the road.
  11. New Jersey Rivian Owners

It is related to something in the state laws. Rivian technically can’t even sell vehicles in MN. When you purchase one, the purchase is in Illinois and then transferred somehow to MN afterward. Just like you can’t test drive one at the service center because Rivian isn’t licensed as a show room...
  12. Normal, IL RAN station is operational

I can confirm Normal is up. I stopped there twice on a road trip in early January. It was hard to get Rivian’s nav app to pick the Normal RAN station. I think it was because it was new. The RAN station is in the parking lot of a Schnucks grocery store. Setting Schnucks as a destination let me...
  13. Paul Bunyans Garage of Minnesota

Granted I’ve only had my Gen 2 R1T about 3 months, but I’ve always just used auto. Never even considered doing it differently. No issues with that method at all. Usually warms up nicely when I precondition the cab with scheduled climate function. In my previous truck, a Chevy ICE, I never left...
  14. App issue - App won't lock/unlock, change charge limit, set climate...

I have the same issue. I did find that I can preheat the cabin using the scheduled climate setting. This always works, where as simply clicking the climate icon to start heating gives me the "could not turn on" error or something similar.
  15. Range at -2F

Had a short roundtrip this morning in the MN cold. Used the scheduled climage warm-up before leaving home. Battery temp when I left home was 23F. When I got to my destination, about 8.5 miles, battery temp had dropped to 21F. i have a gen 2 dual with the large pack. Motors were at about 100F...
  16. Window Wash Spray?

My washers work OK when stationary -- not good but OK. When driving at highway speeds, they only reach the bottom 1/3 of the windshield. The passenger side wider does push a bit of the fluid over to the driver's side, so that helps a bit, but it is really bad on the passenger side.
  17. Gen 2 DM Large Pack reliability

I’ve had mine just over 2 months and I’ll hit 3,000 miles today. No mechanical issues. A couple of times the FM radio gave a message that it could not connect and would not play. After the truck slept, while parked, the radio would work fine the next time I tried to use it. This is really a...
  18. cold weather driving range

I've only had my Gen2 R1T a couple of months, but most of the time it's been in the 10's thru 30's. I've found the in vehicle route planning to be very close predictor for real world range and state of charge. It's just a little bit on the conservative side, so if the trip planner says I can...
  19. SiriusXM Radio Subscription Transfer

I dropped Sirius about 6 years ago because of how they wanted to handle transferring my current subscription to a new vehicle. The long story — I had been a customer for many years. I don’t remember the exact plan, but was paying $100/year - a fair price I thought. I bought a new vehicle and...
