I don't think your experience is universal. I've definitely had a ~10second delay when pressing the button on the fob. It doesn't always happen, but when it does it's quite annoying. A brief search suggests that I'm not the only one...
I think it's pretty clear by now that the team designing the keyless entry system was in a hard fought competition against the team designing the HVAC system to see who could come up with the most annoying implementation of basic features that work seamlessly in most other vehicles. It's hard...
Here's a common scenario for me:
1)Car has been parked baking in the sun all day, interior is 130F.
2)I get in the car. My desire is that the steady state temperature is 70F once the car is cooled off.
3)If I set it to 70F the car will NOT blast as much cold air as possible, it will take...
I don't think the problem with Rivian's HVAC is inability to cool sufficiently when placed on LO, or inability to heat sufficiently when on HI. Both of these seem to work fine to either make the car an icebox or a hotbox.
The problem is trying to get the Rivian HVAC to regulate to some normal...
In auto mode it's the worst HVAC system I've ever seen in a vehicle. Sometimes it will turn off the compressor the first instant it hits the setpoint and will proceed to blow unchilled air at me. Other times it will continue blowing super chilled air for 10+ minutes after reaching the...
9 months have passed since this "Smart Charging" update and zero progress has been made in supporting multiple TOU periods per day, something that many other "less smart" and much cheaper EV/PHEV have supported for many years. Rivian should be ashamed.
The resemblance is smart. But the only thing they modernized is "the look". Everything else about it is a dumbing down compared to what mechanical timers were able to achieve 50+ years ago.
Considering the uncanny resemblance of the Rivian Schedule Charging Screen to an old-school mechanical timer, it's even more ridiculous that Rivians can't handle multiple charging time periods per day.
Submitted feedback to Rivian. Doubtful it will help since I submitted the same things months ago, but worth a shot I guess. This isn't really a "new" thing for SDGE. SDGE has always had two distinct super-off-peak periods daily. It's just that previously they only had it in March/April, and...
Have they explicitly promised "multiple daily TOU periods"? - NO. But they tout how much their partnership with Weavegrid will make charging "smarter". https://riviantrackr.com/news/rivian-teams-up-with-weavegrid-to-bring-smarter-cheaper-charging-to-your-driveway/
This solution is clearly...
When will they update this to support multiple super-off-peak times per day? SDGE has updated their TOU rate plans to have both a 12am-6am AND 10pm-2pm, every day all-year round. This "smart schedule" charging should be able to handle this. My dumb PHEV jeep allows me to manually set a...
I posted a similar thread here last year(https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/unlocking-the-car-at-home-is-maddening.44027/).
My only solution was to disable "proximity unlocking at home", and carry the FOB(gen1). Even so, it still sometimes takes several seconds between pressing the...
My server is https. First time I've ever done that, but I jumped through all the hoops to setup a cloudflare tunnel, nginx proxy, install a cert, etc. When accessing my server, chrome shows it's a secure site - so I'm pretty confident that https is setup properly. But even so, I'm not getting...
Thanks. Did a git pull and redployed and it's now working! Putting in my xtream source didn't work automatically though, I had to click each of these 3 refresh buttons manually. I also originaly set "max_streams = 2", but then changed it to 0 before clicking the refresh buttons, so not sure...
How does one cast to the Rivian when the server running netv is on a home network behind a router/firewall. I can make a vpn connection on my phone into my home network, but then I don't think I can cast that to the Rivian, because the Rivian will not be on that vpn. Is there someway to...
