Thanks everyone for your helpful answers. I am not buying a Rivian for now. On the waitlist for R2. I have to bite the bullet and buy a Tesla S, use it until R2 or Lucid SUV arrives.
Chao.
I am so confused about all the editions and battery packs. I am looking for the battery that will give me the highest mileage. And I dont know how to read the different options for sale.. :(
Chris. There is a SC very close to where I live, they opened it recently. So, this gives me comfort. Except still R1S and R1T are big for my needs. Still very tempted.
Thank you for the nice response. I tried looking at used Gen 1 R1S. But getting confused about which one to buy. Because some advertisements talk about battery but not range. I am not sure Quad motor has different batteries with different ranges???
Suggestions appreciated.
Yes Jiji... I was about to post the same. Looks like there is a SC in Rochester.
Now can you guys recommend a used 2023 R1S that has 400 mile range?
Thanks.
lol... I tried calling/chatting with Rivian about service center location in Rochester as someone mentioned in the forum. The wait time for talking/chat to someone about anything is 45 minutes minimum.... ROFL...
Perhaps there is my answer, why I better for a few more years before considering...
I am able to charge once a night with my Y. Only during winters I have to worry about getting back home with out charging. Believe it or not with 95% charging at home, I can make it back and forth 180 miles in even brutal cold weather in the Y, but I have to drive very slowly like 65mph.
So...
I am closer to Rochester. So Brooklyn is 5+ hours and Toronto is 3.5 hours. :( I do not know of any Rivian service centers closer to Syracuse or Rochester.
This is precisely my situation. R1 is too big for me. R2 would be ideal, I am in the wait list, but need a replacement until it becomes available. Some how not a fan of Kia, Huyndai or Ford. Maybe I am not used to them.
Thanks Rob. Not a numbers guy. I dont mind extra electricity bill, just need a reliable car, with high ground clearance and decent miles in the winter, where I do not have to drive 65/mph or less to save the battery for the 180 mile trip.
I test drove a R1S in Austin. While the cabin itself was quiet, the car was loud when standing outside. Which was surprising for an EV. The show room guy said something about AC was loud?
I was surprised to hear such a loud motor in an EV. Anyone else notice it?
