Yes only the key fob would open the door in that situation, that was about a year or so ago and I do not know if Rivian changed anything concerning that issue as I do not own an R1T anymore.
I had a 22 R1T for over a year (sold it at the beginning of the year) and my Tonneau cover never failed although it always sounded like it would. Anyway I used a dry lube on the tracks as was told by a Rivian service tech and that seemed to keep it working.
As I posted before on different threads and maybe this one I did like my R1T very much but had a gut feeling about long term ownership so I took advantage of a great trade in offer and got out and with the current news I'm glad I did. Also the R1T was way more vehicle than I needed and if Rivian...
I think the prices in the used market have come down considerably since the negative earnings report and news, if you watch the online auctions you can see that.
I ordered my R1T LE in 2019 and it was delivered in August of 2022. I owned it at the pre price hike pricing less fed and state tax credits/rebates. I have had 0 issues including a working power tonneau cover and I did like driving it very much. What I didn't like was the range anxiety of...
Dude, don’t fall for "EV’s will save the world" BS, they are great state of the art vehicles but are still initially very earth unfriendly and not for everyone, in fact if everyone drove an EV we'd be in a lot worse shape as the electric grid would probably fail especially in states like CA. I...
I traded it for a Lexus IS 500 special edition. This is the last of the V8’s in a small sedan and only 150 produced for North America in this configuration so I’m thinking it will hold its value short term as there are still a lot of ICE gear heads out there that will not consider an EV. In the...
While I love the Rivian experience I came to the coclusion this was not the vehicle for me at this time. I did give it a solid year. As my first pickup truck I found it very useful but cumbersome to maneuver in urban streets and parking lots as I was used to a small sedan (Tesla 3) prior to the...
That's the one thing I dislike about diving a Rivian, not very invisible for those of us that prefer to be. People that buy a cybertruck better love being the center of attention!
After a year and a half my launch green shines up really nice after running it through a quality car wash and no paint issues found. I admit I do not go over the car with a magnifying glass looking for issues.
I originally ordered the S back in 2019 but switched to the T as I was impatient and glad I did. Room for 5 is plenty for me as I don't need the 3rd row seat. Storage and utility are better than any SUV I have ever owned (this is my first pickup truck) and now reading that again for my purposes...
I have an R1T for 1.5 years now and came from a 3 performance. The R1 while not quite as nimble as the 3 has a solid feel to it, I'm 70% AP soft mode 30% sport soft mode with high gen always on. The motor wine to me is part of the experience driving the Rivian, the wind noise could be softer but...
I've had my truck since August of 2022, put in a ticket for tonneau cover the day it was delivered and still waiting for the call to get it replaced. It still works but I hardly open/close it as I expect it will give out at any time. Looking forward to the new design that I can use.
