We experienced the same thing… when we brought our R1S in for service, they determined that one of the coolant valves was not operating properly. Once repaired, we haven’t had the same problem since.

I went down the path of XPEL Windshield Protection Film. We're getting ready to do a cross country (wife in the Rivian and me on my Indian) - MD to AZ, and didn't want to risk any major windshield damage. I'll let you know how it goes!

Mine just shipped today.

We love it! We also did XPEL 70 on the windshield, 35 on the front windows. He did a slight tint on the front light bar and headlights. Ceramic on everything. He did a great job on the rims and calipers. I didn’t even know that they make a special ceramic coating for those!
