I’m just poking fun at posts the state the obvious. I use my truck for work and truck stuff all the time.
Can we get back to talking about how Jason railed the two engineers for lack of CarPlay?
Wired, I'm off the grid hauling wood with my R1T, but nobody talks to me :( and I don't have time to make videos of hauling wood. :(
Oh well, back to it then.
I'm on the same page as you. We cancelled our R2 reservation in favor of Toyota/Subaru. CarPlay was the big factor. Having our R1T for two years now, I can confirm Rivian software sucks.
Totally, a cruise ship is not an adventure until it's sinking. I think G. Carlin said one time. Unless your Rivian breaks down in the middle of nowhere and you actually have to hike your fat ass out of a canyon, it's not an adventure. Driving around for fun is a truckers occupation or someone's...
Cool. Let me know how you like it. We were comparing the Trailseeker Touring to the R2, ~$10K difference. We've been very satisfied with our 2020 Ascent Touring. It's a workhorse that crossed the country multiple times at this point with zero issues.
The experience you described in the R1 FM radio is not mine for sure. Did you miss the "heart" icon where you can save a station? I can save favorite stations, and even when swapping users or rebooting the vehicle, the stations are still saved. It does also auto-tune when driving in and out of...
I think this discussion is losing direction. Let me bring it back. Why not just include an FM radio in the R2? What's the cost saving $2?
Obviously some people here use it, including myself. If you use Rivian to adventure, you frequently lose cellular reception, get stuck in snowstorms...
I use the FM radio daily. We live in the mountains and are frequently traveling where cellular reception does not exist. We like our local radio station. Just saying....
