That's actually very clever and possible... thanks for that insight. That makes a lot more sense than the R1S rolling backwards. If he thought he had the brake and lifted his foot a little I'm guessing it could have rolled forward
I wish I didn't react so quickly, I feel like I'm fighting an uphill battle at this point... pun intended. But ya, after reading everyone's responses and really looking into it today, I do feel like the car did not roll back. Still waiting to hear about gear guard... hopefully that will clear...
I can't investigate, ask questions? What does that that have to do with not taking responsibility? By your logic if you're car rolled off your driveway that would be your fault for not standing there and babysitting it
You're telling me you sit at a red light with hands at 10 and 2 and stare forward the entire time? You've never messed with the radio at a red light? Radio, phone, re-tying your shoes... all the same at the end of the day. Come on... be reasonable
At the time there were plenty of cars around but no one came forward. The issue is I just assumed the driver's claim was accurate so I didn't deny anything... insurance sided with them saying I admitted to it. But after really thinking about it I'm having doubts. Aside from one person on this...
This is definitely making me thing... sounds like it is possible. Starting to wonder if somehow it went into neutral but if that happened I would think the Rivian would roll pretty fast and cause serious damage. Well good luck with your issue... I'll look into getting the gear guard footage...
Hmmmm... that's interesting. This is in regular drive mode with hold? Have you noticed if it would roll backwards on a hill or just forward, and did you notice that after an update or just all of a sudden??
I was driving my step-dad's 2024 Rivian R1S and got into a little incident. I was waiting on a red light on a street that is sloped upward... similar to a driveway or maybe a little more sloped. I was looking down at my phone and next thing I know I hear sensor warnings and someone bumps into...
