  1. 2027 R2 Performance vs. 2026 Model Y Performance - highway efficiency test (Out of Spec comparison)

Why not measure and publish a few? Measure and publish flat-road, 60 degree efficiency at 40, 60, and 80 mph in addition to the conventional/combined city and highway numbers. It's a pretty easy measurement to do.
  2. Mobile Charger for the R2 for trips with a NEMA 1450 available

You do you, but RAN, Ionna, Applegreen, Chargepoint, EVGo, and lots of others have tons of CCS1 stations. Just seems silly to cut yourself off from that over a $159 adapter.
  3. Mobile Charger for the R2 for trips with a NEMA 1450 available

There are a ton of CCS chargers out there. I wouldn't want to be limited to NACS. I'd be upset if I was on a road trip, pulled up to an RAN bank, and all the NACS ones were in use but some CCS were available. See the screenshots for NACS only vs NACS+CCS around Freeport.
  4. Mobile Charger for the R2 for trips with a NEMA 1450 available

I ended up buying the Tesla one so that I could have a lot of adapters. I was in between doing that and getting a portable charger with selectable amperage and a handful of NEMA adapters (10-30 to 14-50 etc), but decided the Tesla way with proper plugs and no adapters, which automatically sets...
  5. Mobile Charger for the R2 for trips with a NEMA 1450 available

Seems like a solid Tesla Mobile Connector alternative if they release a few more adapters for it. 5-20, 10-30, and 14-30 are big ones. Maybe 6-20 as well.
  6. Mobile Charger for the R2 for trips with a NEMA 1450 available

The Tesla one has adapters available for virtually every plug you will ever encounter. The Rivian is 5-15 or 14-50 and that's it. And it's more expensive. Get the Tesla.
  7. Do I Risk Damaging the Lift Gate Motor?

... Or items on the roof rack like canoes and kayaks.
  8. Finished R2 demo test drive? Share your review / impressions

That's more an indictment of the roof than anything else. In broad daylight, there's an enormous amount of extra heat input coming into the cabin with a glass roof. It's just so absurd that this is the norm now. Just put in a sliding shade like every other car manufacturer.
  9. Finished R2 demo test drive? Share your review / impressions

I mean, the R2 has like 3 more inches of ground clearance. By comparison, the BMW is basically a car and not an SUV.
  10. Need a couple measurements from a current R2 owner please

Bro. It's in the R2 forum. The pictures are of an R2. And the title says R2.
  11. Need a couple measurements from a current R2 owner please

    Out of curiosity, why?
  12. R2 Highway Efficiency Test: 80 MPH vs 70 MPH Changed Everything

That's nonsense. It matters less because has stations are so much more common and no ones car is calculating the next gas stop for them. But MPG and range is affected just as much in an ICE car as an EV.
  13. Home Wall Charger

It doesn't work that way. The EVSE tells the car what the maximum amperage available is. The car cannot try to pull 48 amps from a Grizzl-E set to max 40 amps.
  14. Home Wall Charger

At 300 miles a month you will be 100% fine using the portable charger plugged into a regular outlet.
  15. Rivian cancelled an R2 customer pickup b/c paint didn't match (Half Moon Grey body vs El Cap fascia) **Updated 7/21** 800 vehicles affected

"Tom! Get me the President on the phone. We're surrendering our position in Cuba."
  16. Looking for best and most cost effective garage charger

Fine but limited and overpriced. The same thing costs like $200 on Amazon and the $300 Tesla has tons of available adapters.
  17. Looking for best and most cost effective garage charger

You're not understanding. The EVSE and car have a whole handshake they have to do regarding supply amps, protocol, ac vs DC, etc. That's the incompatible part. Absolutely nothing to do with wifi or the Internet or smart features.
  18. Looking for best and most cost effective garage charger

The problem is the protocol between the charger and the car, since the older Tesla chargers were made before NACS was really finalized. Nothing to do with smart features.
  19. Looking for best and most cost effective garage charger

These are pretty tough to buy right now. Tesla is only selling to Tesla owners, and they're OOS most other places. Plus the price recently went up by like $85. Just get an Emporia. Easy to install, $379 refurbished directly from the manufacturer. The Lectron Nexus seems like a solid option at...
