  1. Too complex to use while driving, or parking.

  2. Fast Company article: Tesla’s Cybertruck has a serious problem that only a complete redesign can fix

Not sure what this has to do with my post, refuting your assertion that all the appropriate regulatory stops have already happened. Have we seen any evidence of that, thus far? No, we have not. As for the rest of your post, you know what they say about making assumptions ;) EDIT: Others said...
  3. Fast Company article: Tesla’s Cybertruck has a serious problem that only a complete redesign can fix

You can build anything you want. Getting it on the road and in customer hands is what requires regulations, crash testing, etc, be met. Nothing stops you from building as many Cyberfails as you want so long as that's all you are doing.
  4. Saw a Cybertruck on the road ...

Meaningless data. Not official numbers, and nothing matters except conversion rates. Evidence: I've had a CT reservation since the day it was announced. I have no intention of actually purchasing the vehicle. I also will not be one of the asshats that'll flip their reservations. They're just...
  5. Master List of Exported Rivians

Amber LEDs and a soldering iron? I was just in Ireland last month, a beautiful country. I do not envy you trying to drive an R1T around on the tiny little roads. Riding busses around Dublin was utterly terrifying lol :)
  6. Factory winch and sliders / rock rails spotted on this Rivian R1T?

Would love to see any OEM product include winch-only batteries hardwired back to the battery pack for charge/maintenance. Been waiting for a winch since the beginning. I'd definitely buy if the product looks nice and preferably uses a tested off-the-shelf winch of high caliber and quality. Not...
  7. Tire costs, about what Gas costs per mile.

10k on my 20s, only used conserve a short bit on a road trip to Idaho. I have some wear but based on current wear I expect them to make another 10k before being close to needing replacement, barring any offroading damage (been lucky so far). I struggle to understand how others get so much worse...
  8. Long Term Storage

I'd just leave it plugged in and set to 70%. I just did that for 2 weeks while overseas with no issues. Can't see any reasonable argument for not just leaving it plugged in, as is recommended.
  9. Tesla: "First Cybertruck Built at Giga Texas! 🤠"

One truck closer to getting my deposit back and helping tank their conversion ratio :D
  10. PSA: Off-roading with tree branches? Stuff your crack with rubber.

Chainsaws aren't going to be much use for tiny branches. If you've ever offroaded in WA about this time of year, every trail is closed in by small bushes and branches. You can't go out without pinstriping. I've not had this happen to me, despite going down many trails that are pretty overgrown...
  11. Nationwide (Rivian Insurance): Changing Back to State Farm PSA

Obviously anecdotal, but I've had to file 2 claims on my R1T through Nationwide. Both were easy, quick, and flawless. No haggling or arguing, they just paid the shop the bill and we went our separate ways. I do not have anything else bundled though. Probably move my motorcycles over there when...
  12. Officially Unofficial R1T Power Tonneau Cover Redesign Gossip Thread

I'm willing to be patient, and mine still works, but am curious at what point a class action lawsuit is the appropriate route for this. Given people are now literally ripping their trucks apart because they can't use their beds... kinda ridiculous.
  13. Door speakers not putting out much sound... normal?

Use the camp speaker. I dunno, that seems like a pretty niche use case to have required us all to pay more money for better/more complex speakers so you can listen to better audio with your door open for 5 minutes while you get your gear on 🤷
  14. R1T is the only American truck to earn 2023 IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award 🏆

Very happy for this, but that safety comes at a price. Have my R1T in the shop for repairs after backing into a tree at 5mph. Did 27k worth of damage. This is after 9k the last time when someone rear-ended me at about the same speed and dented up my tailgate. I'm expecting insurance rates to...
  15. A PSA for Rivian Complainers

The cracks were still less than 8 years old 🙃
  16. Xpel PPF Stained after driving on snowy roads

I'm still of the opinion that the cost of PPF buys a lot of paint correction down the road. I decided against it since it generally does a poor job of protecting from the type of off-road damage I tend to incur anyway. That said, this seems awful. I can't believe they wouldn't warranty...
  17. My Review: Megawatt Rock Sliders by Electruck4x4

Would you mind posting the other gear in your kit? Interested in the awnings and the spare mount on the back in particular. Thanks for sharing, can't wait to get my sliders!
  18. Greg's Japanese Auto/Bellevue SC

Not sure, mine went to Accurate last time, and will need to be in again soon. Just filed a claim this weekend from backing into a tree like an asshat. Damaged my bumper and tailgate (for the second time). Frustrating since I know it'll be months before I can get service.
  19. 1 week in and in LOVE, but not without some quirks - my R1T delivery summary and initial thoughts!

Glad you are loving it. Pro tip - Don't reach for the spotify pane when playing a song to change songs, use the controls on the left side of the steering wheel. Volume on the scroll, forward back on the buttons. Doesn't give you pause, but I usually just scroll the volume down instead of pausing.
  20. New York 2022 R1T with 58 miles For Sale

Name should have been Flipi, not Rivi. This your second or third flip? Good luck 🙃
