  1. 800v Architecture R3 series

I agree that Rivian should eventually make the move over to a 800V system. However, currently the largest charging network in the US, Tesla, only really supports 400v systems(their v4 stalls being the exception). Same for their biggest seller, the Y.
  2. Half Moon Gray Deliveries Suspended.

The shell of the body is not painted in the same area as the body panels, otherwise paint quality assurance would have caught the defect before it left the paint shop. Most likely this might be painted by a vendor before it meets up with the shell for assembly. This is likely something that...
  3. SoonishEV Group Buy for SoonishEV Dish Wheels for R1 and R2

Awesome, thank you for the update. When is the buy order expected to close?
  4. SoonishEV Group Buy for SoonishEV Dish Wheels for R1 and R2

On the preorder page, it lists "Load Rating: 950 kg (2,094 lbs) per wheel". I'm guessing this a lower load rating than the stock 20" all terrain wheels?
  5. Anyone else's battery always hot?

Yes, but now it's been over an hour since I plugged it in and it's still sitting at 108F. Also, just looking at a DC fast charge that I did earlier at 8AM, after a 174 mile drive, battery temperatures are much higher than that. I don't really know what to expect, but I heard Gen 1 cooling...
  6. Anyone else's battery always hot?

Hell yeah, my battery gets hot. Here in Texas, that's a given. And now that RivianRoamer just added battery temperature to it's tracking, you too can obsess over how hot or cold your poor battery is. For example, here is my battery being AC charged in a garage with the door partially open!
  7. 1 Month Update: R2 Three Day Ownership Review. Comparison to R1T. Efficiency and Range data!

Pre v13 FSD was trash on anything but the highway. City driving was hit or miss, with it often being a miss. It would very often hesitate and make a lot dangerous mistakes. With the move away from hard coded programming to end to end neural networking, that's when FSD moved from being okay on...
  8. Rivian Care now extended to 6 states as of 6/2 -- CO/GA/IL/NY/OR/TX

I talked to Rivian customer service a couple of months back about getting Care coverage since I'm here in Texas. Customer service informed me that at this time, Care is only available for original vehicle owners. Bummer.
  9. Scout Launch Delayed to 2028: Report [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

I looked for real world examples of EREV trucks to compare against the Scout and the only notable example I could find is the BYD Shark. I was curious about how efficient a gas motor could be when it acts purely as a generator, this video covers a Shark taking a 1000 km trip across the...
  10. GOAT Slider removal for SC to work on

Update: The SC never brought up having an issue with the sliders. They were also overwhelmed with the number of appointments they had during(22 vs their regular 11), although I'm sure if it was an issue they would have called or messaged me.
  11. GOAT Slider removal for SC to work on

Thanks for the replies y'all. I'll take a chance leaving the sliders on and see what the SC tells me.
  12. GOAT Slider removal for SC to work on

Has anyone ever removed their GOAT sliders before taking your truck to the SC, and if so did you use the bolts the sliders came with or did you have to install the TP55 bolts? I've inquired with my SC before about having sliders installed and they require to have them removed due to their lift...
  13. GOAT Fabrication Rock Sliders (R1S and R1T Available!)

Thanks for the reply, I'll be sure to clean out the threads then. I'd would have loved to use an impact to take off the bolts, but all my power tools are in another city. Thankfully I did have a Dremel to cut the plastic, as I first tried using a utility knife and then quickly realized it would...
  14. GOAT Fabrication Rock Sliders (R1S and R1T Available!)

I'm in the process of installing my GOAT sliders. I'm removed the TP55 bolts on the driver side, with only one getting stripped out(thanks to the person who suggested using a jack to hold the socket in on another thread, really helped me out get it out). My question/issue is, these bolts were...
  15. Comma.AI install questions - What is this in front of the AXM?

Yes, this is the passenger footwell with the carpet and styrofoam padding removed for easier access. The large plastic piece with the honeycomb looking pattern is in front of the AMX.
  16. Comma.AI install questions - What is this in front of the AXM?

Hello All, I recently had my 2022 Rivian Gen1 R1T serviced for the AC Drain plug issue. After getting the truck back from Rivian, I proceeded to try to install my Comma AI unit that I purchased a month ago. I ran into an issue that I hadn't seen in any of the guides I could find. There appears...
