  1. South OC, CA to Oregon Road Trip - 2,534 Miles

For anyone wondering, Crater lake is beautiful…when you can see it. It will often have its own weather in the crater and can get fogged in. Check the visitor center web cams before you go. Highly recommend seeing it in the snow on a sunny day!
  2. Update on R2 order invitation timing now in account

FWIW: October-November for me. Day 2 reservation holder. Not a current owner. Said yes to Launch edition. 100+ miles from a service center.
  3. Aftermarket R2 Floor Mats

We love TuxMats in our other vehicle and I’m hoping they make them for the R2. They’ve held up extremely well after 7 years and a simple rinse makes them look new again. They’re softer and look better than something like a Weathertech.
  4. R2 Roof Sun Shade

As a bald guy who lives in a very sunny part of the country, I'm keenly aware of sunshine hitting the top of my head and I try to limit it whenever possible. I'd love to see some actual data/metrics on the levels of UVA/B/C that are blocked by this roof. The manual mentions 99.9% of UV but...
  5. R2 Owner's Manual Guide posted!

I found it interesting that the R2 does not have knee airbags. They should have kept those given they’re included in the R1 line. I get cost saving arguments but why compromise on safety gear?
  6. Show off your Level 2 Home Charger installs here

I’ve finally decided to join the club. Tesla Universal Wall Connector hardwired to a 60amp breaker. Now it just needs a dance partner as I don’t yet own an EV (I’m waiting for an R2)
  7. R2 Demo Drive Scheduling is LIVE! Anyone book test drive yet?

That’s a bummer. I’m in central Oregon and Portland is my closest service center. I’ll keep waiting….uffda.
  8. Estimated time to order R2 - what's your estimated date?

I'm a day 2 reservation holder and my account said June as well.
  9. R2 "Deliveries in Spring" but you can't configure/order until June?

The math isn't mathing here. I'm guessing deliveries won't actually start until Summer which is disappointing.
  10. Are there any negative consequences to consistently charging at a lower amperage than your charger’s capacity?

Thanks for the info all, very helpful. I think I’ll keep my plans of installing a 48a charger and then de-throttling via the vehicle. I hadn’t thought of thermal issues but where I’m at in Oregon, we get fairly hot summers (90°-100°+ regularly) and with a southern facing garage, it gets quite...
  11. Are there any negative consequences to consistently charging at a lower amperage than your charger’s capacity?

I know that a 48a home charger is usually overkill for most EV owners – but is there anything wrong with installing one anyway and setting the vehicles battery management system to charger at a lower amperage? The only reason I'd want 48a capability is to future proof our solution as the...
  12. Received 12V Battery Warning - Looking for some advice

I’ll be curious to see what you hear on a mobile technician. I also live in Bend and the lack of a local service option is a huge drawback to owning a Rivian. I’m an R2 reservation holder and the service problem is giving me a huge pause.
  13. Does R2 Configurator = Time To Order???

Thank you for the info. At what point in the process are you "committed" to a purchase? For context, I'm a 2nd day reservation holder so I'm hoping my number won't come up until late in 2026 as I won't purchase until Lidar/Gen3 hardware is launched on the R2. I'd love to start the process but I...
  14. Six R2 Launch Colors Confirmed by tate16t?

I just want a Limestone R2...is that too much to ask?
