R2 "Deliveries in Spring" but you can't configure/order until June?

The math isn't mathing here. I'm guessing deliveries won't actually start until Summer which is disappointing.

My friend that works for Rivian that also apparently follows me here silently has *cough* said employees are able to order a month before everyone else will.

I have also been wondering about the timing of orders and what "Spring" meant. I was thinking I would go with the LE Performance if my order came up early, but I was a couple months behind on the pre-order so I think it is likely I will go with the Premium when it becomes available. At least for the Premium there isn't much wiggle room with "late 2026" as long as I assume that it means "before 2027".

Here's what I got from a sales person- I entered information for a trade-in estimate earlier today (March 12).

The sales person contacted me wanting to know if I was still interested in trading in my car for an R1S or R1T.

I told them that I was actually checking to see what the value/cost would be for an R2 as I already own an R1S.

They responded back via text and said they'd reach back out to me in June when they could start taking orders.

I would think late 2026 would mean Q4 2026 (October, November, December), for sales purposes.

That is a reasonable assumption. If I assume December then there is less chance for disappointment

They did say customer deliveries would start by end of Q2 which is June so a narrow path to meet that given this news.

Open up configuration selection June 1 for the June 21 deliveries? Three weeks is enough time if they only offer specific configurations at first. "If you want June 21 delivery, you better pick Launch Green, white, or Borealis. With Black Crater Signature interior"

My guess, R2 Shop inventory, for delivery as soon as in 3 weeks. Or, custom config on June 1, with delivery god-knows-when.
