But it didn't need to be motorized to be concealed in the trim pieces the way the S, X, 3, & Y were. Rivian could have it be manual, but still integrated into the tail light so that it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb...
...and it's not like they didn't already have a template to rip off...
Let's just say -- completely hypothetically -- I have a music drive with almost 4 terrabytes of music, but a phone with only 256 megabytes of storage, much of which is devoted to photos and work emails.
Then what?
You know what would be a good solution to this problem? I do.
I have shares of Rivian. I have no shares of Porsche/AUDI/VW and no shares of the BMW Group. So I'd prefer you get a Rivian. Except I'm reading what you wrote, and don't understand why you're not getting a BMW iX3?
I kinda hoped the backlash against the no FM radio would be so severe that in addition the an FM tuner, they'd put a GMRS or CB tuner in a future iteration in for actual... adventure purposes.
You know all those internal corporate memos about the fuel tank location in the Pinto? I think...
Dear Stevejust:
Yeah, sure. You reserved a "spot in line" when we opened up the reservations as you watched the presentation from a watch party at a Rivian Space, but we didn't actually mean that. You know that dipshit neighbor down the street? He reserved a week ago, but he uploaded a lease...
If only there was a way for Rivian to... I don't know, I'm just spitballing here, ACTUALLY ASK PEOPLE THAT QUESTION.
The amount of data Rivian collected from reservation holders is incomprehensibly negligent, and if their conversion rates turn out to be shit, it's going to be their own fault.
I have a significantly older GX and specifically called out the Mark Levinson system in it as sucking... in this very thread back on page 8 or so.
But also, I've never had a Toyota product with a good stereo. They're notorious for not being able to make a decent sound system.
Toyota gets away...
I wouldn't expect the steering to match the 5N (I've not driven it, but I've heard nothing but good things). But I drove the R2 today in Sport mode, and I compared the handling to an X5, because it drives bigger than it is and I could feel its weight, but I thought it drove really well.
I've...
Maybe y'all can help me with this. I was at the watch party in Chicago. When RJ showed the link during the reveal, I pulled out my phone and placed my order.
But then on reddit someone posted a confirmation email and it was 10:02 a.m. PST. So I looked at my email, and it was 12:32 p.m. CST...
R2D(ay)2
I have thoughts. So many thoughts.
I drove one of the very oldest (modern) EVs around, over to meet the very newest:
And then I took the R2 to measure up to the SUV I'm replacing the R2 with:
It feels much larger than it looks in comparison with the GX460.
I read/watched a ton...
I have the Mark Levinson "premium sound" in my GX460, and like all Toyota products it's a turd of a sound system even with Levinson's name slapped on it. I'm going on a demo drive in an hour, so I'll get to hear it for myself soon.
Given everything known about the R2, I'm having trouble understanding any disappointment with it.
There's no drain plug in the frunk? We still don't know what the stereo is going to sound like?
My biggest complaint has to do with the costal cloud interior not being available on day one...
