Rivian Easter Egg - Steps For Display Screen

Did you not check the date of this post or even look at the images in this thread? It's been years since this was posted originally, its obviously going to be out of date.

    Starting Car Noise

2024 R1S and I get similar AC noises, turn off the AC and it'll stop. This only happens when the vehicle is parked and warm as far as I can tell which makes sense as there's no airflow through the heat exchanger.

So they sent you an extra accidentally, and your first thought is to sell it without contacting their support about it?

    1st charge

Welcome to the club! My biggest tips for a new EV owner are: Charge often, especially at home when rates are low Leave your charge limit as low as you can unless you're roadtripping, 70% is usually a good choice. Charging up to 90% or even 100% every once in a while on a roadtrip won't hurt...

    My 2024.11 update disappeared

I still haven't received my update notification. I'm assuming the most recent update was pulled for various reasons. At least one other owner on here posted about how media controls and a full screen player popped up after they plugged in their iPhone, so maybe a few unreleased features...

    How do I get 2024.11?

You created a thread asking how to force an update, and that refreshing the update screen didn't work. Then you suggested someone else get the new update by refreshing the update screen. That's why you're getting these sorts of responses.

    Burnt 240V outlet

Judging by the lettering on the top of the outlet (the outlet was installed upside down), it appears to say "50A 250V" so I doubt it was the outlet choice that did it. Almost certainly a faulty connection as others have said

    Burnt 240V outlet

That's a great question. If you specifically chose the outlet and asked the electrician to install it on a 50A circuit, that could explain why they did it. I don't recognize what type of outlet it is offhand, but it doesn't appear to be a 14-50 NEMA which would be a great choice for a 50A 240V...

    Burnt 240V outlet

The 80% rule is for every component from breaker to outlet, inclusive. That means your circuit is only safe to operate at 80% of the lowest rated component. If you have 8awg wire, 50A breaker, but an outlet that is only rated for 30A, then your max safe sustained load is 24A.

    Burnt 240V outlet

Other than the outlet being worn to the point of causing a short or fault, the only thing I can suggest is ensuring the outlet itself is rated for a sustained 30A load. Other than that, where you noticed the fireworks is usually the culprit. If the outlet went up in smoke, you should start by...

    Burnt 240V outlet

If your charger is limited to 30A, it should properly instruct the vehicle it cannot pull more than 30A. You can see this happen if you use the portable charger on a 120V outlet -- the vehicle will automatically limit the current to the max the charger can provide. This only becomes an issue...

    Burnt 240V outlet

Just to be clear, the charger you're using is limited to 30A correct? You're positive the vehicle didn't try to pull too much power? For sustained loads, a 50A breaker should not be used above 40A. The default setting for an R1T is to pull 48A unless the charger properly limits the amperage to...

New Dual Motor Performance R1S loud siren type noise from motor

There's no hardware difference between PDM and DM. I have a PDM Max Pack, and recorded my video from the same position as OP -- my phone was near the steering wheel. There's no perceivable grinding, crunching, or pulsating whatsoever. I've never heard the noises in @Stanman55's video before, so...

New Dual Motor Performance R1S loud siren type noise from motor

Yeah, that crunchy pulsating noise when you decel to 25 mph in the second video is very obvious. If I started hearing that on my vehicle I'd be demanding service do something right away. Sorry to hear they're trying to tell you folks everything's fine, because that definitely doesn't sound right 😕
