  1. Take it FWIW - Rivian, Tesla, and Fisker may go Bankrupt

Tesla is pretty unlikely any time soon unless something happens that undoes all of their success over the past decade. They're the Toyota of the EV world and as long as they keep innovating should be able to stay afloat. Rivian and Fisker...of course they could the winds could change at any...
  2. Ben Sullins: Rivian R1T After 1 Year - Would I Buy it Again?

In fairness to the normies who may have a more legitimate leg to stand on, BS whines for a living. I can't imagine he's payed much if anything for his Rivian out of pocket when you factor in his ad reveue.
  3. No tax credit for Rivian (effective April 18, 2023)

Ideally if Rivian were to do it, it works like Hyundai has been doing since Feb 2023, as an instant $7500 rebate you get at the time of lease signing. Hyundai must go back to the gov't and get the credit but as lessee all that's required is to buy out said lease and you're in the clear with no...
  4. Disappointing service experience & lessons learned

This post reminded me I never filled out the survey I received around the time of my last service appointment.
  5. Alex on Autos' Follow-Up After Selling His R1T

I'm awaiting the R1T 2.0 at this point. Not throwing shade on Rivian but there's zero incentive to spend any signifigant amount of money (outside of the tonneau) to resolve the current owner concerns. May as well just roll it all into various iteratively refreshed R1Ts moving forward.
  6. Alex on Autos' Follow-Up After Selling His R1T

This is what I find most strange about the situation, it's not like the vampire drain results in great responsiveness. I've waited up to about 5 seconds several times for the truck to wake up when I want to turn on the climate or manually unlock/lock it. Sometimes it doesn't recognize me at the...
  7. Info on why max pack preorder holders "whine"

The conspiracy theorist in me thinks its because they're trying to convert as many max pack orders as they can to large because of some yet unannounced change with max pack deliveries. But the more likely scenario, based on pre and post delivery communication with Rivian is that one hand has no...
  8. Official Software Spotlight: KNEEL MODE

Fair point, I figured it would when it was discussed prior to the actual announcement. From what I recall at the lowest ride height its fairly close to the standard ride height of an F150 which is still a decent step in height without running boards. User action each instance vs automatic once...
  9. 😵‍💫Hummer EV taillights cost $6100 per set (parts only)😵‍💫

Not as many consistent chances to get money out of customers down the road with service in an EV. So I guess GM would rather recover some of that revenue in parts. I'm struggling to believe GM spent the resources on designing a $6k light bar on a halo vehicle that only a relative few will own...
  10. Rivian updates website: Two 12v outlets now (none in frunk) for R1T

By how hastily this was done I'd hope there was some reason beyond cost savings, if the wiring is still there and someone had to cut or adjust it after is there really a major savings in the plastic molding and bits of metal? Wouldn't the extra handling and electrical tape offset any savings?
  11. Delivery Nightmare....Ongoing

Maybe just me but I’m a bit confused on how you worded this. The Rivian got into the accident on the way back to the service center ? When you say you completed the 8 steps it’s the second time round on a new and not totaled Rivian?
  12. Shattered Rear Window - R1T

Oh boy, here I was thinking at least now it looks like it should keep any rain out. Who knew I may have to confirm after its replaced.
  13. Shattered Rear Window - R1T

I'm checking in with Rivian today so no details just yet. I'm more concerned about the timing, I have travel planned a few weeks from now and ideally it can be fixed before or while I'm away. It's certainly possible there was an imperfection, I can't say I spent much time inspecting it. It's...
  14. Shattered Rear Window - R1T

I think I picked a $100 deductible on my Rivan insurance but ideally I don't have to use it.
  15. Shattered Rear Window - R1T

Its absolutely possible but I’d used a brush to clean the tonneau (rinsed it first), rinsed it after cleaning then picked out a piece of large debris. I certainly could’ve have missed something but whatatever was left shouldn't have been dense enough to shatter anything let alone an entire rear...
  16. Shattered Rear Window - R1T

That’s what I thought too. I can see if I got one of those gas backpacks and blasted it for a while. But it couldn’t have been more than two minutes maybe of indirect contact. Rivian said give them today to come up with a plan. Im debating doing that plus giving them the day tomorrow or just...
  17. Shattered Rear Window - R1T

I was inspired to post this, not really sure if it will help anyone but it could be a form of stress management for me. Quick bath for the car, mostly to wipe down the tonneau cover because it was looking especially dirty. Used my electric blower to dry things off and getting ready to call it a...
  18. Cost to replace cracked R1T roof glass - $2209

I'm extremely interested on what my back window will cost to replace, was using a electric blower on the tonneau getting rid of some water and a few passes over the rear and whole thing shattered. I'm not sure why Rivian went with glass reinforced with good intentions instead of what everyone...
  19. [State of Charge] Rivian R1T Home Delivery: Features and Settings Deep Dive

I'm not sure there's anything new in the video but I like watching Tom's reviews, they helped me pick my home charger. Its also my first time seeing the new OC with Forrest Green.
  20. Accessories - Floor console organizer / Tesla Charger Adapter / Phone Mount / Bed Mat / Etc.

I use one to help with the glare and fingerprints. Probably would’ve picked up a tempered glass one if it was available at the time but the regular one is serving its purpose.
