That wasn't really the question. AI couldn't give a definitive answer because the manual has gaps and inconsistencies. The question was about user experience what the car does and doesn't do in real driving. And instead of providing feedback, several people started BSing about RTFM. And it only...
The amusing part is that people who “leverage AI all day every day” should, of all people, understand that results depend heavily on the model, task, prompt, context, and tools available. Declaring “ChatGPT is garbage” is a bit like announcing, “Computers are terrible. I use good computers.”😅
Apparently California approved new efficiency rules restricting the sale of replacement tires that don’t meet rolling-resistance standards. I expect all cheap tires will disappear soon.
Excellent suggestions. So instead of asking AI assistant to search the 400-page manual for a feature, I have two superior options:
Squint at the same 400-page manual on a 6-inch phone screen.
Sit in the garage for an hour scrolling through it on the car display.
Technology marches forward.😅
I’ve been driving for about 40 years and somehow managed to survive without ever reading a car manual cover to cover. I’m not planning to start now, especially since my eyesight has declined at roughly the same rate that owner’s manuals have increased in page count.
That’s one of the reasons...
Thanks, the AI found that also, but it concluded: " the shortcut is documented only on divided highways. On ordinary city roads where R2 Universal Hands-Free now works, Rivian does not document this speed-limit shortcut."
So I guess it's a testing time for me today to find out what works and...
Unfortunately, it seems the R2 ACC/UHF doesn't have automatic speed adjustment to posted speed limit + tolerance like my previous Mach-E. I can't imagine constantly scrolling the wheels to adjust speed on hwy 17, where speed limit changes every mile.
I asked ChatGPT to dig through R2 manual to...
Thanks for the reminder. No, I'm not going to read 400+ pages, but I fed pdf manual to ChatGPT and asked it to find the answer. It told me "go to your car, dummy, and check Settings → Access → Locking behavior at home"😁
My mistake was I didn't realize the Settings menu was scrollable.
Got my Esker Silver today, very nice looking color. Interestingly there were two of them parked side by side and I noticed the color is very slightly different. Mine is more neutral dark silver, and the other one had more bluish tint to it.
Well, my immediate issue today is with using my phone...
