  1. Esker Silver R2 spotted by Stephen Aldaco?

I've posted this picture in other threads, but I don't think it got many views. This is the early prototype in the lobby at the factory in Normal. I believe it is Esker Silver. I really liked it when I saw it in person. It's slightly darker than LA Silver, though I'm sure it would look different...
  2. Is this Esker Silver? - Video

Here's a picture of the R2 prototype in the lobby at the factory in Normal. I'm pretty sure this is Esker Silver. It's a shade darker than LA Silver. I really liked it in person.
  3. R2 Delivery at Normal, IL Plant?

Here's a picture of the R2 on display in the lobby.
  4. R2 Delivery at Normal, IL Plant?

You can enter the lobby at the main factory entrance. The parking lot is typically full, so you may have a hard time finding a parking spot. I'm not sure how they are currently handling new purchase delivery, but for service you pull up at the front and go to the front desk and they have...
  5. R2 Delivery at Normal, IL Plant?

I live about an hour away from Normal. I picked up my 2022 R1T at the factory, but only had a quick look at the end of the assembly line. They said they couldn't give a complete tour. More recently I went there to drop off my truck for service, but no tours were available. You can peak through...
  6. Looking forward to the R3X launch event

ALSO is a separate spin off company. You can reserve a bike on their website. https://ridealso.com/?srsltid=AfmBOopQyJM7jeTKtQC2vPLMilzMf7n8yrXnfUh2gC9fVXm_EMcYsV8K I'm looking forward to the R3, but it's going to be a long wait. They still need to build the factory.
  7. A good time to own an EV - Gas Prices about to go nuts [LOCKED DUE TO POLITICS]

It depends on how long the war in Iran goes on. 20% of the global oil supply has to go through the Straight of Hormuz. The bigger impact on supply is for Asia and Australia. Global prices still impact us here in the US. I'm glad I invested in Solar PV on my home !
  8. R2 Displayed at the factory lobby in Normal

I was happy to get a look at it in person even if it's just a prototype. I wanted to get a better idea of the proportions. I'm looking forward to getting the all the specifications on March 12.
  9. R2 Displayed at the factory lobby in Normal

I was at the factory in Normal a couple of weeks ago to drop off my R1T for service. Got to see the R2 on display in the lobby. Unfortunately it's roped off, so I couldn't sit in it. It was great to see one close up. They had a stator from the electric motor on display as well. The color looked...
  10. Who Won the 2026 Rivian SXSW Giveaway?

That's what I thought too ! I went back and read the fine print under the contest rules and you could enter the contest up until midnight February 13th. Considering the long weekend with a holiday on Monday, I'm hoping they announce the winners today. Whoever wins needs to make travel plans...
  11. Recall: FSAM-19794

I didn't notice any problems with Driver Assist prior to taking it in. I just heard there were problems with some early VIN's and they just decided to replace the module on all of the affected vehicles.
  12. Recall: FSAM-19794

I had it done at the Normal, IL service center yesterday. They also replaced the secondary driver assist module. They told me 1-2 hours but it was more like 6 hours. It didn't bother me, since I they set me up with an Enterprise rental car to use. It was nice to check out the R2 in the lobby...
  13. How Rivian Designed the R1, R2 & R3 — Jeff Hammoud, Chief Design Officer.

SXSW doesn't start until March 12. Rivian will announce the winner of the tickets February 13th
  14. Conserve Mode: $125 a month tire cost!

I assume you didn't rotate the tires. Pirelli recommends rotating the tires every 5000-7000 miles.
  15. What are you paying to charge your Rivian?

Yes, vampire drain is a real concern when talking about cost of energy ! The display in the truck doesn't take this into account. There is no way to easily measure it, unless you have a separate meter. I hope Rivian can fix it with software updates.
  16. What do you use your R1T hitch for? (Picture Edition)

I just brought home a new electric zero turn mower, DR Power ZT5E. Another step in getting off the fossil fuel habit. It's lot less noise while mowing too.
  17. Rodent chewed through wire harness, causing $7K repair (and $1650 towing)

I live in a rural farm area and have always had trouble with mice getting into the garage. They would chew through the bottom door seal, until I found the Xcluder door seal. https://buyxcluder.com/x2-kits/162970-162972.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIqaSOn-3M-wIVojizAB2BpwrcEAQYASABEgIrT_D_BwE It seems...
  18. Spotify app is a mess

I played around with the free version of Spotify and was not impressed. After hearing all the issues with premium users, I will not bother to upgrade. I tried Tunein and was pleasantly surprised to find some ad free stations with a good mix of music.
  19. Portable Charger & Amps/Breakers

I have both, just in case. You would most likely find the TT-30 at RV parks and it will give twice as much charge as compared to the 120V 15A plug that comes with the Rivian portable charger. It's still slow compared to using 240V options. Just remember Amps X Volts = Watts.
  20. Portable Charger & Amps/Breakers

There is a big difference between the TT-30 plug and the 14-30P. The TT-30 is 120V 30A (3600W) and typically used at RV parks. You would get about 2880W of charge. The 14-30 is 240V 30A (7200W) is used for dryer plugs and will provide about 5760 W of charge.
