I did. Circumnavigated the Island in the Sky district. Did it all in a single charge. Let me know if I can help with planning details or any questions.
Anytime! As you're planning your trip, please don't hesitate if a question arises. The rangers mentioned there were a few other R1Ts planning their trips for the fall and asked for an update once we completed our tripāthey're up to speed now. One additional thing I didn't mention before was our...
Hey North et al,
Apologies for the absenceābeen quite a summer so far.
Yes, we completed White Rim on a single charge. I confirmed with the NPS rangers who granted the permit and one out on the trail that we were the first EV to complete the full trek (first permit to an EV they ever...
Thanks for the sharing, looks like a great time! Could you share your experience charging in Moab? Iām headed out that way in a month and wondering which chargers you used? Any issues?
With regen breaking and no creep setting, how would you owners approach a very tight garage? Do you one pedal it ever so lightly, modulating it till it fits? Left foot on the break? How confident do you feel in your control of the front end while crawling into tight spaces? Back end?
Garage parking mode: enables coasting when letting off the throttle and removes regen braking so you can ease the car into tight fitting garages. Better still would be auto self park in remembered spaces.
Hey trez63, Iāve been trying to get a sense of the trucks size in reality compared to the specs Rivian shares. Their specs mention 217.1ā lengthāhow does that compare to yours from the tow hooks to the tail?
Appreciate you answering our questions!
Rivianās specs mention 217.1ā length, may I ask an owner to do a length measurement to confirm? Which parts stick out furthest? The tow hooks? How about on the back?
Iām trying to gauge whether Iāll be able to fit this into my garage, so any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!
Hoping this changes soon with the RAN, would be an oversight to skimp on Moab.
Great find, North. Iāll definitely keep you all posted on how it goesāJune feels like an eternity from now. Did you have a particular camp spot in mind? We went with white crack having never been there before.
Iām actually planning this trip for June this yearāIāve got an April/May estimated delivery and already have the White Rim overnight permits. Thereās a Rivian L2 charger at the nearby Under Canvas glamping site near the trailhead weāre planning to utilize to get to 100% SoC.
This is getting overshadowed by Motortrendās awesome TransAmerica Trail story today, but it speaks to why Iād rather support Rivian than any other automotive companyāthey practice what they preach.
