Just to add to this and the reason why I originally cancelled my reservation… I really wish we had a plug in hybrid truck at this point. It makes the most sense especially when you really look at the physics of trying to make an ev truck. Just due to the weight and aerodynamics of the truck...
Waiting on a tundra hybrid. Hoping to have it in April.
test drive the f150 power boost and while it’s a lot nicer than I expected it to be, I just can’t get past that it’s a ford.
I actually canceled my rivian reservation about a month ago after about a year. The last couple days I’ve been...
Almost all the driving I would do could easily fit in the daily range. But…. Looking at that worst case usage for the Rivian, I’m looking at about $.11 cents per miles based on my rates. I know solar would offset this but I don’t have solar or the investment money to make that work. The new...
That 150 miles wasn’t towing, it was just regular range. Again, worst case and calling range the 10-90% of the battery. But with AT or snow tires and driving when it doesn’t get above 10F for a week, I really think that’s what we are looking at.
So just quick math here. We have a 314 mile range. We loose about 10% for AT tires, only are supposed to use 80% of the battery capacity, and lose 30% of range in cold weather driving (also losses in hot weather driving but I haven’t researched that as much and happens to me much less than cold...
I’ve come to the same conclusion but for different reasons. I love what rivian has done with the truck and do really want one. But I don’t think we are just there yet with battery tech for it to work well for trucks. I think after battery degradation, tires, 4 months of winter cold, general...
I had a 2016 trd off road for 5 years with a 3 inch lift and 32s and got between 20-22 in the summer and 18 in the winter. I’m getting 13-14 right now with my gladiator. I’m seriously thinking about getting the new tundra. Better gas mileage and the pano roof with full rear window up/down is...
That’s the problem and the crux of the issue here. I’m completely fine with 300 mile range. But in reality we aren’t getting 300 mile range. It will be something like 200 and down to 150 worst case. And then you might be getting that 150-200 miles for a full charge but the math everyone uses to...
While I get the use of the tundra… a better comparison will be the future prime version. From what I’ve been able to find, Toyota is going to do the base gas engine this year, hybrid next year, and the prime the year after.
I’m actually thinking of getting a tundra shortly because I know I’m...
I would really love to have even a plug in hybrid version of my gladiator but I don’t think papa stellantis will get there any time soon…
related note is this brz conversion I had been watching - I had a brz too at the time. This guy took a leaf system and mated it up the the manual tranny in...
So I’m a none LE preorder, pretty late to the game after being on the fence for a couple years but before the IPO. From threads at the time, I’m at about 40k at the time. What’s the best current guess on wait time for me? I still haven’t gotten a delivery window email yet so I’m just curious
There seems to be enough supply around me of both… oddly all off them optioned to cost around 45k… I think I’m partial to the VW too but towing a 850 lb quad, the Ford will be better suited
So… I might need to reevaluate my plan. I have a jeep gladiator and I love it… but get 16 mpg and am going to have to slowly start going to the office more and more (but not really full time)…
Put in an order sept 21. With the buzz and stuff starting I figured I would wait until summer 22 and I...
Im in the same boat.. have a jeep gladiator now. Love the truck but 15 mpg ha ha. Just looked and there are a dozen+ id4s on the lots around me, one awd.
I’ve been ready for the EV switch for a couple years but there hasn’t been anything for me. I’ve had a few Tacoma’s and now the gladiator...
This… this… I want this more than anything…
it could be 5k or 20k, but I want it at point of sale. I just have the feeling that I’d get screwed with a deduction vs a set amount at the transaction
