  1. New Charger software V03.04.09

Same here. Mines on V03.00.30. is there something that needs to be done to update it?
  2. 2024.03.02 Software Update: Quick Control Shortcuts, Improved Soft Sand Mode, New Ride Feel Setting, Etc.

The new "soft" ride is definitely "different". My R1S feels much smoother now in that mode and road imperfections are less noticable. However, it feels like potholes or bigger bumps unsettle the R1S more in this mode. I get the feeling that I will use soft on highways and stick to the medium...
  3. Excessive parking brake disengagement noise

Thanks. Let me give this 'move forward before reverse' technique a try. The last few days have been moisture free and the noise has not been as severe, so definitely moisture factors into this.
  4. R1S Not Releasing Properly When Accelerating From Hold

Talk about timing :). I just posted asking about the same thing, but in my case, its mainly when I start the drive and seems to be OK later. The "clunk" feels like the parking brakes are disengaging but I am also coming off Hold. I wonder if the new SW update has something to do with this? I...
  5. Excessive parking brake disengagement noise

Last few weeks, we have had snow and rainy weather- ie just a lot of water. I have been noticing that every morning, when I engage reverse to pull out of the garage, there is a loud metallic noise akin to the parking brakes disengaging. The first few times, I thought it was just the moisture...
  6. Is Bosch Quad going away?

While Rivian will switch away from Bosch to keep with the vertical integration philosophy, QM is the halo, higher margin variant. It will get better in the next iteration and likely pricier, but Its here to stay as the topdog R1 variant.
  7. NACS Adapter Rolling Out “Next Summer” and 1,000V RANs?

Rivian needs to determine the strategy to use for the RAN roll outs alongside the transition to NACS. if the future is NACS, why put out a bunch of stations with CCS connectors that need a retrofit in less than 2 years. I expect a deferral or slow down in roll outs so that at some point late...
  8. Front tires slipping/skipping on full lock

I was worried that this might be a half shaft thing but sounds like I need to atleast give the next OTA release a chance before going to a service ticket (which will likely get me in sometime in 2025 :)).
  9. Front tires slipping/skipping on full lock

I have been noticing that when I am at full lock (parking lots, going around traffic circles etc), the front tires seem to slip. It happens on dry but certainly more on wet roads. I have about 13K miles on the tires (22" bright) and they seem fine - no signs of excess wear. The tire pressures...
  10. Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche Finally Commit To Using The NACS

Honestly, I am fine with ONE standard emerging so that all the EVSE providers can simply focus on that, retrofit and do whatever they need to do to ensure that the infrastructure is ready. Sucks that I have to carry around an adapter. But if that increases my access to charging, let's go!
  11. R1S battery outdated already?

and dont forget the CCS ports that we are all carrying on our R1x are dodos now :). Just enjoy the vehicle and know that the next EV you get will always be better than the one you are buying now.
  12. What do you want addressed in the next OTA update?

Please add a 'city mode' to the adaptive cruise control for stop and go type traffic. This mode only engages below say 25mph but shortens the distance between the R1 and the vehicle ahead. Right now, the minimum follow distance is way to much for city/stopNgo situations with the gap becoming an...
  13. Importing (sharing) a route from Google?

You are really sharing the destination, not the route unfortunately (using the share link on google maps with the Rivian app). I agree that it would be really nice to share the route that Google chose but alas, not to be.
  14. Aftermarket charger recommendations?

Word of advice - check with your local utility company to make sure you are getting a charger that they recognize for EV charging discounted rates. I made the mistake of getting the Rivian charger with my purchase and apparently my local utility (BGE) does not support that and I cannot get the...
  15. Please re-design or improve the Climate Control / AC Navigation Controls

My feedback is more mechanical in nature. They need to move the central vents. They are too low and impossible to get the air to your face on a hot day. Please fix this in your refresh.
  16. Music volume setting range

I concur - I think Rivian has made a change to volume control. I used to have my audio (spotify music) at a volume level of 4 and that was plenty loud. Now, I need to crank it up to 12-14 to get the same output. This coincided with a service visit where they replaced a amplifier (TSB about not...
  17. Truckload of Fisker Ocean's

Checked out my friend's Fisker Ocean this weekend. Fisker/Magna have done a great job on the fit and finish - body panels are perfectly aligned, the interior material is top notch and the overall look of the vehicle is even better in person. The software needs work but overall, I came away...
  18. Visited Atlanta Store Opening. Couldn't convince wife on R1S over Model X

I would consider how you plan to use the vehicle. If this is going to be your road trip vehicle, MX is clear winner because of the SC infrastructure. Otherwise, Its personal preference and as they say "happy wife, happy life" :)
  19. R1S amplifier replaced by Rivian TSB. Anyone else have that done?

6xxx Thanks all. I will chalk this up to "By design" and not a bug :)
  20. R1S amplifier replaced by Rivian TSB. Anyone else have that done?

I had my R1S in for service for a set of trim/nuisance issues and Rivian added a "amplifier replacement" item to the work order. Service rep could not tell me what it was but said that my VIN had this TSB associated with it. Prior to the service, I had no audio issues and I would listen to...
