20" Nitto Recon Grappler AT tires 25% more efficient than Pirelli OEM AT! The holy grail!

I don't think thinner air is going to make any real difference in efficiency for an EV. For ICE, of course because it messes with the air/fuel ratio. But if you're saying that an EV will cut through thinner air easier, then I'll have to disagree. If there's any difference at all, it would be far...

20" Nitto Recon Grappler AT tires 25% more efficient than Pirelli OEM AT! The holy grail!

Why would that make any difference in an EV? Unless maybe because one would tend to use more heat at higher altitudes. Other than that, what's the difference for an EV?

    I swear headlines these days.

Personally, I'll never own a Tesla. I'd rather walk. But if cost savings is the goal, the math really doesn't add up for me in any way. And truth be told, cost savings isn't the goal when buying an $80K - 100K EV at all. An R1S the way I'd spec it would be about $95K. Even if gas went up to...

    I swear headlines these days.

I'm a big fan of Android Auto/Car Play and not having it would be a real bummer. That said, there's already an aftermarket solution to solve that issue with Rivian. So anyone who really wants it in a Rivian can spend the money and have it.

Depends upon what comes out and when. I will probably compromise at some point, but I dont know for sure.

I'm a pretty specific use case because of my lifestyle and how I use my Jeep, so if I could find an electric version of my vehicle that has all the capability, has decent range, is the same size or maybe slightly larger, I'd most definitely give it a try. I don't want to give up my air...

    Wheel locks for R1S?

Yeah, scum of the earth did that, I'm pretty sure.

    Wheel locks for R1S?

You might not realize this, but wheel thieves don't use bottle jacks, they do use floor jacks....usually lightweight aluminum ones that are easy to carry. Bottle jacks take too much time to pump up and as you said, they typically don't have very much travel. You also have to realize that any...

Absolutely sick of Alexa's god-awful navigation

At this point, I don't think I'd want a vehicle without it. I've just gotten so accustom to my phone automatically pairing with my vehicle and allowing that seamless interaction between the infotainment system and my phone. Not having it would feel like going backwards 10 years.

Absolutely sick of Alexa's god-awful navigation

Google is a thousand times better. I have Alexa in my house and Google on my phone. Whenever I ask Alexa a question and get a messed up/ridiculou response, I ask Google the same exact question and get an actual valid answer. For Alexa being out so long, it's apparent that Amazon isn't big on...

    I swear headlines these days.

If Jeep made my Grand Cherokee in an EV that was the same price as mine (a bit over $50K), charged as fast as mine takes to fill the gas tank and could get 500 miles on the highway before refueling, I'd already have one. Hell, I'd probably have two of them. That's one reason I was interested in...

I'd be happy with 500 miles at 80 mph. Even in winter. ;)

    I swear headlines these days.

Absolutely not. You don't know the difference? You missed the point by about 10 miles. What I"m saying is that there are forum members here WHO DELIGHT in the idea of taking up two supercharger spots just to piss off Tesla owners. Do you not understand that? I read it right here on this very...

    Wheel locks for R1S?

Every wheel thief is desperate and a lowlife. Otherwise, they wouldn't be stealing your wheels. ;)
  15. White Shadow

    Wheel locks for R1S?

Wheel thieves don't care about your vehicle, trust me on that. They aren't going to take time to find the jacking point or be careful in any way. They just toss a jack under there and pump it up, get the wheel off, and then drop it right onto the brake rotors. Except for the last wheel because...

My R1S rear ended a delivery truck - results

Kudos for admitting that you got into an accident that was your fault. 99.999% of "got into an accident" threads across the entire internet seem to always blame the other guy. That said, it's still weird the way you titled the thread. It's almost like you're subliminally blaming your Rivian.

    R1S was #4 best selling EV in Q1 2024! Let’s gooo!

At this stage in the game, it's nearly double the amount of time. Of course that will decrease over time. I just looked up the numbers because I was curious....the total sales from the beginning for R1T versus R1S favors the R1S by just about 1,000 units as of March 2024. But yeah, in 2024...

    R1S was #4 best selling EV in Q1 2024! Let’s gooo!

I agree that most people who want the R1T probably already have one. But it has been out a lot longer when you consider that no R1 vehicles were on the roads just 2.5 years ago. The R1S has been out for about a 1.5 years. The R1T has been out for about 2.5 years. That's quite a bit longer if you...

    “Refresh” prediction

Maybe. Jeep uses 275/45/21, so a little lower profile than Rivian.

Rivian continues to miss out on revenue

Like I said, it depends upon who you believe. There's bias in all surveys. Data is date, but it can be manipulated. EVs for sure are less maintenance. But are they more reliable? Who knows? ICE vehicles have had a long time to get better and I'd say they are pretty damn good by now, so...
