[UPDATE]
Now it “sorta” works again with no actions on my part. It will show the screens, and initial play the music, and I can manually trigger the outside sound effects, BUT…motion doesn’t work, and if I change the inside soundtrack, it switches to the SiriusXM station I have tuned in! WTH did...
I was able to download the Rivian OTA update and app update and the Spooky Swamp worked great…for 48 hours. I turned it off last night when I went to bed and now it doesn’t work at all. It says it’s working in the app, and I can make selections, but the truck doesn’t react at all in Manual or...
They really need to figure this out. This is a security issue for sure, and in the right weather (or wrong weather...) it will be an insurance claim that goes back to Rivian to have to pay or fight. Anti-pinch is great, but this is easily fixable with software guardrails.
***Update*** Rivian SC crew (these guys have been awesome at the Reno/Sparks SC!) ran diagnostics remotely and given the time stamp from the video, they found it pretty quickly. The truck issued an “anti-pinch” command and rolled the window down. So they know “what” happened, but not “why”...
I will probably run the window calibration routine today, but I would rather have Rivian find out what command was sent, and why, in the logs, so they can prevent this in the future. Recalibrating the window may just be a band aid that lets it happen again later after some unspecified things...
I thought about making the garage the default parking spot, but I travel a decent amount and am far more worried this will happen again while at a hotel or airport parking lot, as opposed to my driveway. They need to find a root cause for this and fix it.
Cell phone is secure, or at least more secure than most. I have worked in cyber several times and have a healthy paranoia about hacking, so have some best practices and tools to keep things as secure as I can. Also, as mentioned, the app cannot command a single window to roll down, so it would...
Not an option in the app to roll down just one window, and my phone it on a charger on my nightstand all night--not within reach unless I stretch to get it.
Hello all,
When this truck works, it's a lot of fun to drive. I am losing confidence daily though through multiple unexplained issues. The latest was just 2 days ago. It had been raining pretty good the prior evening and throughout the night--and was still raining in the morning. I got in the...
Ok, I can understand those points. The charge port door sensor on the outside is a capacitive touch sensor, so water and foam should not trigger it--it should need a person to touch it. However, that door may be better safe than sorry, as I'm sure it would lose a fight with the spinning wash...
