Thanks, I already have the car here (as a temporary import). Rivian so far said they will not provide documentation that the vehicle is USMCA compliant (I don't know why not). If that is the case, when the time comes, I am just going to sell the car in the USA and get another vehicle...

Somewhat- tariffs don’t apply for vehicles that are >15 years old. So my husband’s 1989 Land Cruiser doesn’t get a tariff. But there isn’t a tiered tariff structure by vehicle age (besides loss of value of the car).

I was hoping that would be the case. But actually, that ruling only applies to the broad so called "liberation day" tariffs, not the specific industry tariffs such as automobile, steel, and aluminum.

I find that my R1S is relatively terrible in the snow, compared to my previous Audi and BMWs with winter tires. I was attributing that to the tires- I have the 20" All-Terrain tires that came with the R1S, and have put off getting actual winter tires since we’re in yet another minimal snow...

Why should we keep it plugged in even when not charging? I have a short commute and only charge/plug in after several days (charging to 70%) or before a longer trip as needed, but otherwise don’t plug it in- I could but didn’t see the need.

I had an Element too! That was one of the best cars in terms of design functionality… but driving/braking left much to be desired!

I restarted the display & the car- lights still didn’t work. I contacted Rivian and now I have an appointment at the service center (1.5 hours away) in January ?
