I don't think its a good idea for a novice, solo. Get a buddy or a group together. An alternative to Monarch would be Old Monarch or Marshall, those would be trivial. Lujan is south of Marshall & would be more rocky than those 2, but much easier than Tincup.
Surely with the R2 showing around the country there would be some interior volume/dimension specs? Nothing on the Rivian site, and nothing that I've found so far.
I saw the other thread on 'cargo depth', but what I'm interested in, will 2 mtn bikes fit in? It's a little longer, taller and...
It looks like you're only taking up 1 spot to me :) I could back my id4 into the next spot & use the next charger.
I assume you need an account with Tesla? Did the charger connect easily?
Even IF the US does move to NACS, there will be adapters & CCS EVs will be OK for a long time (or forever). I'm not worried about my id4 & it won't effect my decision to purchase a Rivian. There's a lot of fear and panic around this.
I totally agree with you that there needs to be at least a minimart, preferably better, at a charge stop. In this case it's 8 min roundtrip from the highway if you're going E-W, at least 20 min if you're going N-S. Everything you want is close to the highway intersection too, near the Tesla...
The Tesla charger is next to a minimart, & pretty close to a grocery & hardware store & an outdoor store. The Rivian charger is near a Safeway, bars, restaurants, local trails, an outdoor store and a river. If you want that then you won't mind driving into town, If you're on the way to...
This Salida CO charger is in a lousy location.
Instead of close to 1 of the 2 US highways nearby, it's in town. If someone is driving US50, they have to drive 2.4 miles (round trip) through town to get there. If you're on US285 it's 10 mi out of the way. Tesla did it right and put their...
