  1. Rivian Lease Deals are extremely favorable right now

As TheWoo noted above, the bulk of the savings is coming from the $7500 tax credit that is applied to the lease as a cap cost reduction, but not applied to the loan. On top of that, as I understand it, when you lease you are financing a much smaller amount - in your example it would be $83,750...
  2. Rivian Lease Deals are extremely favorable right now

    1. I think you're leaving out the "due at signing" costs on the lease which include: $895 Acquisition Fee $1800 Destination Fee 2. On the lease you're only paying interest for 2 or 3 years, and only on the difference between the total cost of the vehicle and the residual value. On the loan...
  3. Leasing is now available in Maryland, New Mexico, and Virginia.

Received a promotional email from Rivian this past Friday, April 19. Among various other things there is this news: • Leasing is now available in Maryland, New Mexico, and Virginia.
  4. New Mexico Rivians

R2 reveal is today at 10am Pacific time, 11am NM time. I would encourage everyone in NM to reserve an R2 and tell your friends about it. The leaked specs indicate it will be a great size for those who don't need a 3rd row, at a fairly competitive price. But most importantly: the more...
  5. New Mexico Rivians

Yes there is mobile service in NM, based in ABQ. No service center though.
  6. Does the R2 actually kill Rivian?

I'm one of these for sure. No need for a 3rd row - reserved the R1S Quad motor when it was going to be available with two rows, explore trim, before price hike. I don't really need 4 motors, air suspension, or super fast acceleration. I just want a reliable EV with AWD/4WD that is large enough...
  7. Gave up on R1S and ordered a 4Runner TRD Off-Road Premium today.

Glad to hear you've had a good experience with your Jeeps. I considered a GC 4XE trailhawk, but they were about $70K at the time, and I just couldn't justify that when the 4Runner was about $50K fully loaded and an R1S would have been about $75K.
  8. Gave up on R1S and ordered a 4Runner TRD Off-Road Premium today.

Ancient and inefficient sure, but also extremely reliable and capable. Reliability is huge for me. 4Runners routinely last for 250-300K miles and they hold their value much better than an R1 (or any EV really) as far as I can tell. Living in the southwest I don't see frame rot as something to...
  9. Gave up on R1S and ordered a 4Runner TRD Off-Road Premium today.

With the price/specs just leaked on the R2, it looks to me like a direct competitor with the 4Runner, although it is a bit smaller in length and height and will of course have way better performance. I'll be putting in a reservation for sure. I'm really hoping it will be long enough to sleep...
  10. Poll - Do you plan to place R2 Reservation for $100?

Will likely put $100 down for R2. But actual purchase will depend on the price, reviews, etc and especially having a service center within an hour or so drive - currently the nearest one is 5 hours away. Even with pre-order pricing. the R1S is more money than we want/need to spend on a...
  11. New Mexico Rivians

We have a pre-price hike R1S reserved but we are planning to wait for some kind of announcement about a service center in NM before seriously considering taking delivery. Maybe just wait a bit and see what happens with the refresh this year and NACS port being added, etc.
  12. New Mexico Rivians

Happty new year! We were invited to take delivery by end of 2023 but decided to wait till there is a service center in NM.
  13. End of Year rush?

They offered me free all weather mats to take delivery by EOY. Not exactly the most compelling incentive, but I do have the original pricing locked in. I'm in NM also and decided to wait till there is some word on a service center here.
  14. New email - Option to take delivery outside of service center radius

Update: a couple days ago I got a call from Rivian, which I didn't answer. Shortly afterwards I got the below email. Sounds like they are really trying to hit their numbers for the year. I responded asking when/where there will be a SC opening in NM and have not heard anything back yet. Still...
  15. Interesting article about the Tax Credit, and vehicles that qualify. Rivian is only Partial.

Again, I agree with your main point about the IRA drastically reducing the number of vehicles which qualify for tax credits being counterproductive. The problems with the BZ4X and Solterra are many, including the range being abysmal compared to the competition. Hyundai/Kia seem to be selling...
  16. Interesting article about the Tax Credit, and vehicles that qualify. Rivian is only Partial.

Agree with most of what you said, except this part. The BZ4X is a non-competitive vehicle purely because it sucks, not because of the tax incentives in the US. Toyota produced a very sub-par EV and it is not selling well anywhere. They have the resources to do better, but so far they don't seem...
  17. Poll: How many service center visits did your R1 require in the first year of ownership?

Bumping this to see if we can get to 200+ responses. So far with 160 responses, about 46% report 0 or 1 required service center visit, and 37% report 3 or more. The remaining 17% report 2 visits needed.
  18. Poll: How many service center visits did your R1 require in the first year of ownership?

As I don't yet have a Rivian and haven't paid that much attention, I don't know which recalls etc could have been done by mobile service. So I'm not going to get super granular here, and just hope that people answer truthfully and follow the instructions to the best of their knowledge/ability...
  19. Poll: How many service center visits did your R1 require in the first year of ownership?

Hard to know for sure, but there is likely a selection bias where people with more issues are more likely to respond to the poll. On the other hand the forum members may be weighted towards Rivian fans and shareholders who are more likely to cut the company some slack.
  20. Poll: How many service center visits did your R1 require in the first year of ownership?

So far a total of about 36% are reporting either 1 or 2 service visits required, and another 36% are reporting 3 or more. Valuable data and will be more accurate/valuable the more people respond. Thanks and keep em coming!
