OP I too have this exact setup (R1S with a ā21 Mean Bean Trailer). Iāve found my range cut about in half when towing (driving to elevation and back down).
Interested to hear how youāre able to improve your efficiency.
I could have sworn someone did a trip recap for Mt Rainier but I canāt find it now. Iām trying to plan our 2024 camping and want to take our teardrop to Mt Rainier. I *think* the last charging spot is Centralia (coming up from Portland).
Has anyone done this trip? Any advice would be...
Just referenced the manual again and unless Iām seeing it wrong, the ātelltaleā for reduced regen is on the āpower displayā which only shows on the driver display not the center.
Again, I might be wrong.
Iāve had my R1S for a couple of weeks now and love it. I live in an area with a lot of hills so I really utilize one pedal driving and I rely on regen brakingā¦a lot! It does a great job of slowing down the vehicle and I give enough following distance to let it do its job taking into account...

So I get in the car, put it in CWM from the screen, all the handles close, I close...
I just drove by there today. If you live close-in to Portland itās an awesome location. Itās also just off of the 5 for those in LO and Tualatin/Tigard. Itās just next to the RIB for those E/SE.
If they can manage the encampments across the street under the bridge then itās a great location.
I think (not saying Iām 100% correct) that selling of a vehicle as ānewā is tied in part to whether the car has been registered/titled and each state may have rules regarding mileage limits for new vehicles.
A vehicle with 500 miles on it may technically still be ānewā if itās never been sold...
