I'd like to think that the electronics in the Rivian are hardened to protect against this type of situation, but I suppose it's possible that it isn't: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single-event_upset
In a nutshell, a single particle from space strikes a sensitive piece of electronic equipment...
Guys, before you spend your hard earned money on cheap running boards, consider feedback on the vendor. EV Base has had a few sketchy things come up in the past with regard to their products (you can find posts here, on Reddit, and elsewhere) and how they've dealt with customers. The Branden...
Just got back from Safelite in St. James, NY. As they were prepping the replacement glass, they discovered that the clip that holds one of the cameras was defective and they had to pick up a new windshield from the warehouse. They asked if I would prefer to wait or reschedule for another day. I...
Funny you should mention that - after I thought about it I decided to bring it to one of their service shops by me so that they have full access to anything they’d need. My appointment is for Monday - I could’ve done a drop off for all day on Saturday but I didn’t want to just leave it for the...
I guess I’m the newest member of the windshield replacement club. Safelite is coming out on Saturday to do the work. We’ll see how this goes. Are they capable of calibrating yet or will I need to go to Rivian?
Yep - the park button doubles as an emergency brake to slow the vehicle down before putting it into park once stopped. It’s electric though so I’d be curious to know if it would have responded if the normal braking system was unresponsive.
Appreciate that sentiment, but your original post did not convey this. It was clearly a letter to Rivian Execs.
As for them reading this forum, while that may be true, your situation is a serious safety and legal concern that they would not touch unless it goes through the proper channels...
Just some advice - this is not the Rivian Executive escalation channel. None of us can help you with your situation. Contact Rivian directly and if they are ignoring you, lawyer up.
Looks like there’s enough of us Rivian Airstreamers to form our own ACI Intra-club!
There were only two of us that showed up at ACI International last year - any of you going to York PA this year?
Started with a NuCamp T@B 400 but replaced it with an Airstream Trade Wind 25FBT. It’s around 8000 lbs fully loaded and I use an equal-i-zer WDH.
Efficiency is around 1.1-1.4 at 65MPH and the Rivian honestly pulls like there’s nothing back there.
I own a Tesla and a Rivian - you don't need to remove your MY. There's a "Charge my other EV" option under the 3-line (hamburger) menu as I described in my previous post.
From the Tesla app, upper right corner (Hamburger Menu) select charge your other EV. It should default to your current gps located SC station and you can click Charge Here. Otherwise, select the correct location. Then select the pedestal that you are going to use and click Start Charging.

For anyone new to OTA vehicles - we don’t all get the update at once. They are done in batches and sometimes you’re at the front, sometimes you’re at the back. Almost everyone has Connect+ so don’t fall into the trap of believing you paid for immediate updates. You’re still in a queue.
As...
