Jerry Rig Everything 1500 Mile R1T Review

Lack of supply I suspect. No 3rd parties yet, driving the price down. Hopefully a lot of costs come down as the supply chain gets back to normal. Assuming nobody else is planning any geopolitical blunders for a while.

    Rivian Insurance Not Cheap!

120/month by USAA in a not great neighborhood on the North Side of Chicago. 2016 Mazda CX-9 was like 75ish. If Rivian can't beat companies like Progressive, I doubt they'll beat USAA.

Driver+ Not up to current Spec - A Deal Breaker (?)

I think it's pretty obvious to most that Rivian was never going to be a leader in this right out of the gate. If adaptive cruise control works, everything else is gravy for me. Until I can actually take a nap or watch a movie and let the car do the rest, I don't really hate driving so much that...

Speculation: R2R Maybe Not the First R2 Model

Yeah, it was described by a Carbuzz source as a cross between a "Subaru WRX wagon and an Isuzu VehiCROSS." In the specs thread.

    LAUNCH GREEN R1T Photos

I am torn between blue and LG. Has LG aged well for everybody that has one?

RJ buys the dip and picks up $1M of Rivian stock

IMO, it's a pretty easy stock to go long in and just view every dip as a new discount. No point in sweating unrealized gains/losses before it adds a decimal point in 2-3 years.

Speculation: R2R Maybe Not the First R2 Model

Given the performance they were talking about, I suspect this is going to be Rivian's Roadster equivalent. But everything we've heard about it was before they got way more private investment than they were originally seeking. Like 8+ billion when targeting 3.5 to get started. I suspect the R2R...

Colorado R1T Launch Green, Forest Edge for sale

GL. I hope you get a crap-ton for it. Maybe we'll see you in one when there's some decent aftermarket extenders to wall off the 7' you can get with the gate down. And thanks for the 21 vs 20 observation. I'd been wondering about the noise factor. It's hard to turn down the off road wheels when...

Chicago Rivian Sales Location Under Construction

Got contacted recently for the May/June window. Recommended going with the direct assisted delivery option where they bring the car to you and teach you how to drive it before I said I would need to delay to July.

    Non-Rivian rooftop tents

It's weird they wouldn't have kept it just a smidge less wide but it wouldn't be hard to fudge an eighth of an inch. Just screw a little bit higher one side, a little bit lower on the other. The angle would be barely noticeable. I tightened a couple of mine too hard and they bent a little. No...

    Non-Rivian rooftop tents

Edit: Oh, I see. I'll check how much width the plates can accommodate when I have a chance. 3.6" is surprisingly wide. I would guess yes though. I don't know why Yakima told you you needed something special either because I find it hard to believe. These things are designed to be universal...

    Non-Rivian rooftop tents

I shopped a Thule Tepui Explorer in anticipation of an R1T. Dimensions closed are: 48 x 56 x 12. "clamp" is a very simple metal bar nutted tightly on very long screws. Should be installable on any rack system that can handle the weight. Love the tent but extra memory foam mattress recommended...

    May/June Deliveries Thread

Whoa! Thanks for the heads up! Was wondering if IL was ever going to get around to it.

    May/June Deliveries Thread

So did you get the sense it wasn't a big thing to delay an LE delivery by a month or two?

    May/June Deliveries Thread

Oh crap. Feb 2020, not 2021. It's an LE. Ironically, I could actually use a delay. All my savings are in GME, it has likely 100% more shares than are supposed to exist and stock split hits in June/July at the earliest.

    May/June Deliveries Thread

I was originally in the May/June group. Just noticed I got my first guide contact on the 7th. Am I likely delayed or no? I'm in Chicago. Ordered Feb 2021. EDIT: 2020, sorry. Not 2021. Brainfart. It's an LE. Last config change appears to be late May 2021.

Will our configs be locked now?

My plan has always been to select everything I want until I get closer to my delivery date. Then trim down based on where I'm at with that down payment. Not much point in saving config changes until prices are about to be locked in when you accept delivery. Good on Rivian for the about-face but...

Rivian DELIVERED!!!!!! Don't click, you'll be sorry. :-)

Man, I have argued down so many Tesla trolls and all I got was this t-shirt. That I paid for. But like a lot.

Complain directly to Rivian in writing RE: this ridiculous price increase.

It might impact my ultimate buying decision, but I don't really get the point of being mad about it. Inflation is legit bad and only getting worse. And the world's supply chains just lost access to all of Russia, the airspace above Russian, and Ukraine. Prices will likely drop as they're able to...
