I own an EV6, but I follow Rivian development closely and I frequently go back and forth over ordering an R1S. This issue is one of several things keeping me away from Rivian for the moment.
It seems there is always a major division/conflict on this. There is a specific group of people who lock...
i live in the PNW, and have a LEER canopy on my Silverado. I find myself thinking "gosh im sure glad i have this" a lot. it rains a lot here, and having a completely water proof rectangular space is SO useful. I can turn it into a dog living room if I want. I can jam a bunch of stuff in it and...
all of these are legitimate issues.... you don't need to defend Rivian. if they charge full price for a vehicle it should work as advertised and if it doesn't it needs to be called out. saying "they fix it later OTA"... sure that's true, but no one wants a vehicle with issues. It's okay to call...
numbers are spot on. it's cold so higher air resistance, likely using HVAC, and he's going fast (73mph in the pic). i wouldn't expect any better in those conditions. come summer time i'm sure we will see people getting much better range while towing, especially if they keep it around 60mph...
if they try to make me say Alexa and I can't change the wake word, I won't buy one. And if by turning off internet communication with Amazon, my voice control disappears, I also won't buy one. If a basic vehicle function ever gets locked out if I disable Amazon, I won't buy one. Hope you are...
thats BS. at best, ford is slightly under-rating it like the Mach-E. It may get 320 miles or so, but the "469" mile thing is a garbage number extrapolated from Marques Brownlee's first look video last year where he just randomly looked at the guess-o-meter right after the truck rolled off the...
that's actually not entirely true. if you take a picture of someone or their property, and they don't want you to do that, you can't. it's illegal to put a surveillance camera on your neighbors house, for example.
not sure how they thought dune running was going to work out with normal all terrain tires. have you ever noticed that all sand vehicles have unique tires with giant fins on them? that's for a reason.
everything would have been fine if RJ said "employees get first dibs because there are still a couple small issues and we want the public deliveries to be perfect...we are shooting for Thanksgiving to really get going on non employee pre order customers" we aren't talking about giving people...
my take...if you are expecting to hear about a customer getting a truck in their driveway tomorrow who isn't a Rivian employee, i think that isn't going to happen.
no one is confirmed to have a truck in their driveway. if someone who wasn't an employee did have a truck in their driveway, we would have heard about it. the problem is that current employees may be under instructions not to publicly discuss their vehicles until a certain date.
i know people don't like to hear it, but this seems right. there were a lot of little issues with the trucks that scream "not ready for production yet".
i don't think a non employee is getting a truck until nov/dec, personally.
couple little things. tailgate piece that slides down got stuck in upward position. the tailgate doesn't seem to want to fully release when the button is pressed. video on external cameras looked terrible, not only bad frame rate, but also poor resolution. there are going to be problems, there...
