Hello. We finally got the Front Runner Slimline II roof rack installed on the cab of the R1T. This uses the tried and true Slimline II platform system with R1T specific side rails.
Rivian R1T R1S *New Product Alert* Front Runner Slimline II Roof Rack Installed. 20230609_192349

Mounting system is quite simple but definitely more than strong enough. Front Runner is using a proprietary ubolt style hook bent to their specifications that is bolted through mounting plates. Not as pretty as a CNCd insert, but I feel the cost savings and simplicity is worth it. I was told by one of Front Runner's lead designers they worked directly with Rivian on this.

Wind noise is typical of anything you put on the roof of a vehicle. No loud whistling or anything outlandish, but definitely sounds like there is a roof rack on my roof on the highway (especially at 80mph ?). I would say that adding my awning to the side makes more noise than the roof rack itself. The wind fairing is designed specifically for the Rivian and is not one of the universal wind fairings you can find on their website.

What I don't know
1. I don't know the final price but it will most likely be similar to their current racks

2. I don't know when they are going up on the website but this is a production/validation version so I am told it will be very soon.

Where can you see it in person?
I will be in Salt Lake City, UT next weekend. R1T will be at the Outdoor Adventure Expo Sat, Sun June 17-18 and also at the Outdoor Retailers Expo M,T,W June 19-21 at the C6 Outdoors booth.

Nice "nice rack"s. I also saw your other "nice rack" on another post, so I'm glad you're thorough ;)
Was @NWCamper referring to this rack and how I racked my wheel or is it another inside joke I'm unaware of ??

Wheels are Fuel Ammo, which doesn’t come in R1T fitment ... so I’m assuming they’re the 5x139.7 Dodge fitment with hubcentric adapters for the R1T.

Wonder if they’re the ET20 or ET01 (+20 or +1) offset? Look great, if a bit heavy.

Rack looks nice too. Prefer this to most of the other rooftop designs so far. Added to my list ?

Any plans for a rack for the R1S using those proprietary mounts? Since the R1S has 6 roof mounting points vs 4 for the R1T, I would expect an R1S specific rack. I know that I would consider one for my 'S'. Do you know the weight rating for this R1T rack?

Will be curious to see if the rack interfers with Driviers+ and/or GPS reception.

Yes correct. Fuel Ammo 20x9 +20 offset. They are listed at 43 lbs which is 4 lbs heavier than the factory Rivian 20" Dark AT wheels (which i measured at 39 lbs). They aren't driveable on lowest and sometimes rub on low on really hard bumps.

Ever owned a vehicle with one of those front bras that were so popular in the 90s? Overtime, if no PPF, dirt and that front fairing is going to wear on the paint.
Yes definitely something to consider. Easy enough to add clear PPF strip over your paint for added protection. I was already planning on adding something similar to this.

What size platform is that? Looks good!
Platform is 53.5" long x 53" wide measured to outer edge of rails.

Yes I was informed they will definitely release one for the R1S and it will be an R1S specific rack. The platform itself will be stronger than the load you would want to put on the vehicle. The factory crossbars are rated at 250lbs per pair (Dynamic). This rack should exceed that, but I don't see why you would want more than 250lbs of gear on your roof anyway as it would be a horrible driving experience.

Will be curious to see if the rack interfers with Driviers+ and/or GPS reception.
I have not noticed any negative effects. I don't see why it would cause "noticeable" interference since the platform ends before the shark fin.

Any word on the bed rack? I'd be interested in that especially if can be mounted on the crossbars for quick on/off.

@Dirtcom_AJ ...any updates on this post and the Front Runner rack for Rivians? I'm most interested in the mounting brackets and whether they can be purchased separately, as well as whether R1S availability of the rack is near. Any available pricing info for the above would be appreciated as well. Thx
