Pirelli Scorpions selected by Porsche for new 911-Dakar model

The fact that Porsche selected a version of the Pirelli Scorpions for their new 911-Dakar has me thinking it may be a better tire than I thought. I have always run KO2s on my 4x4 vehicles but I may just keep the Pirelli's on until they need replacing, which on a 7000lb R1T, will probably be next week or so.

And for those waiting on an R1 who's budget may support it, check out the new 911 Dakar (probably sold out though...)

That Dakar is the coolest Porsche. The Pirellis were more of an unknown vs other brands we have all put on our trucks for years. I trust the pedigree though.

Everyone loved Duratracs but I tried them on a Jeep years ago and found them noisy on the highway and bad in snow. It’s all subjective.

I actually saw a Dakar here in Bend, OR last Wednesday. Was pretty sweet
