I wanted to post for all those waiting for their trucks so you can hear some good news along with some of the other challenges, that unfortunately, some have had. My overall experience is that I LOVE this truck. I have about 1,000 miles, just driving around town, no offroading. I have a Blue/Black, R1T LE, crossbars, 20" all terrain tires. I ordered back in Feb 2019 and waiting anxiously along with many many others a looong time, but completely worth it. I have had a few minor service issues (triangular window repair for wind noise and very minor panels gaps in the black plastic below the doors. Overall driving experience is superb, fast, responsive and incredible handling. Obviously everyone wants to see it and I always oblige, lots of pictures, lots of questions. Interior is very comfortable, screens are easy to use and super intuitive. Charging has been a breeze, I did install the Rivian wall charger and getting roughly 21-21.5 miles per hour of charge, but with my daily driving I only charge about every 3-4 days, and only to 70%. For trips to gym, Home Depot, driving family it is amazingly comfortable and the storage is incredible. While I understand some of the issues that others have had appear to be serious/annoying, I feel this is an incredible product for a first run of vehicles. Also, the local Dallas service center team has been VERY responsive and done great work very quickly

Now for the "wish it was better" or annoying stuff, wind noise at high speeds is still bad IMO, truck sits up very high for entry and exit and retractable running boards would have been awesome ( I know you can lower it, but still high), and I worry about the compressing the side of the seat over time (I am 6" tall). It took 6 weeks for the spare tire to come in, but finally did. The air vents only being controlled on the screen is over engineered and annoying, and the fact that the center ones blow directly on the cup holders, even when you move them is bothersome. Grab handles would have been great as well, of course, CarPlay. Not having a great spot to mount a cell phone and no CarPlay is a nuisance, but maps, screen and overall tech make up for it IMO.

Other than that, completely loving it and highly recommend the truck to anyone...if you don't love it, I'd be surprised.

Thank you for a ray of positivity on a figuratively and literally gloomy day as I await an update on my R1T that needs a door repainted whilst reading a number of other bad news posts. I appreciate your post and look forward to joining you on the road in an R1T with a huge smile.

I’ve had my truck for two weeks now. Agree with you on the air vents. Those should be manually controlled, no need to have a motor and a computer interface.

Had one issue where the truck threw every error light one time. Called roadside and they immediately picked up. Had me do a hard reset (hazard light button) and since then all has been well.

Love the ride comfort, user interface, and overall fun to drive aspect! I do have a service appointment scheduled to get the spare tire installed, adjust a panel gap, and fix the tailgate. Tailgate will release when the button is pushed but doesn’t open like it is supposed to.

I suspect there are many more happy customers out there who have received their trucks and do not post in the forums. anecdotally, I would think that the forums are largely comprised of ultra enthusiasts who have orders pending, those who remain after their deliveries, and new owners who are seeking guidance for or socialization of their problems with the vehicles. I wonder how many content Owners are out there whose stories we never hear, and I suspect those numbers will only go up, proportionately. Again, all anecdotal speculation.

I am interested in how the panel mis-alignment fixes go. How long do they take, and how exactly does that repair go?

Glad to hear OP has a had a great experience but note that he had some minor issues as well. Also noteworthy IMO that the forum is promoting positive feedback... but I guess we are not an impartial audience and the @Administrator is giving the audience what it wants.

Thanks for the insight. 6 weeks for the spare! Wow.

My R1T will be arriving in about 4hrs apparently.

My kids are staying home from school today to witness and participate in the event after a ~3 year wait.

We do a lot of camping and have out grown our current vehicle. This will be our first truck and will be charging the kids OSET's, electric trials bikes from the R1T.

The kids are super excited and fixing up the yard and driveway in anticipation.

Anyway, thanks for the great report.

I don’t have any major panel miss alignment on the painted services, mine was on the black plastic below the doors. Gaps on one side with large are than the other side and they were able to just shift the panels closer together on the larger gap side

Not exactly sure what you mean. My range is been fairly accurate, driving back-and-forth to my office is 14 miles and it’s only been using 11 miles each way sometimes 12 as soon as it stop and go

For drivers who manage their battery very well (never go over 70% charge or below 30-40%), the range in mileage can increase.

Ok, thanks...haven't noticed yet, but will check it out. Thus far I have been pretty damn impressed with range on minimal charging needs

2018 Honda Clarity phev
GM, I have a delivery date or pick up should I say schedule for Friday May, 27th, 2022 at the Orlando FL Service Center with a Preorder date of February 2020. Adventure package, Forest Green Black Interior, 21 Road wheels with Spare tire, 2 roof racks and the rubber floor mats ordered.
Went with the pickup because if I would have chosen delivery to my house in South Florida in Pompano Beach it would delay it because of the hiring a 3rd party flatbed, then having the Rivian Employee on Schedule for the paperwork part or whatever goes down at delivery so I chose to make the 200 miles drive instead of waiting. The Guide and 1 more employee have been super helpful and attentive to details.
Make sure if you transferring plates from another car to say so otherwise they might be doing like a new registration that is more expensive, at least that what it was almost happening in my case.

Also getting out work and taking my 3 daughters out of school early so the whole family takes part of this huge purchase and moment in our life. This truck I am expecting it would be super helpful with having 3 daughters playing travel softball and myself still playing competitive slow pitch softball tournaments with all the equipment and hotel travel I am Super excited. Mainly would be my wife car given that I don't need a car this big for myself to work instead my main car is a 2018 Honda Clarity PHEV touring.
