Hi all

Waiting on my R1S and would like input from folks in AZ and NM if the hotter weather is resulting in (AC) noise

There is a thread from a TX owner that has input from owners that hot weather seems to cause excessive noise while driving

Thanks in advance

Las Vegas R1S here. But I haven’t experienced any louder than normal AC operation. Fans are on full tilt but nothing I found to be of any concern.

I’m in the Palm Springs area this weekend, temps in the low 100s, the fans are blowing hard so they are loud but no different than we have in the Model S in these temperatures.

Thanks for the input. Appreciate the visibility as an R1S owner in SOCAL

@RJ ARE YOU HEARING THIS SHIT???

This is the exact AC noise everyone is talking about at full load. You can see the compressor in action screaming HOLD ON DEAR LIFE - HODL

Is this what you had in mind when you designed the HVAC and hiked up the prices $20,000??

In TX where we have regularly been above 100 degrees this past week (I took R1S delivery on Tuesday). No excessive AC noise at this point. AC temp set to 69 degrees, recirculation on.

Live in Flagstaff, Arizona but travel to Phoenix often. Had the R1T for about a year and 8500 miles and experienced significant temperature ranges. The glass roof is a problem and requires a quality shade screen. My A/C compressor seems to be operating correctly but the temperature sensors have a mind of their own. When running the heat (20 degrees outside) the truck will spontaneously start blowing cold air. Likewise when running the A/C (105 outside) the heat comes on. On a trip to Tucson had to turn the A/C on and off four different times to reset the system. SC has not been able to solve the problem although they did try resetting the HVAC software. I do not know why but it seems the worst when set between 68 and 71 degrees on auto. I now run it on manual which seems to help. Maybe a software problem or perhaps sensor placement issue? I have also wondered if the humidity sensor could be the problem. SC sent the problem up the chain but 9 months later no response.
