Acceleration Boost software upgrade at some point in future?

Shaving off 0.5 seconds when you are already at 3 seconds (0-60) is a much bigger deal than boosting from 4.4s to 3.9s.

When it comes to power, people have paid much more for less. The upgrade amounted to 50hp for $2,000 or $40/hp. A quick google search gave me this handy list which shows plenty of things that cost more than $40/hp:

That said back to the original post…the Tesla Model 3 acceleration boost lowered the 0-60 from 4.2s to 3.9s. The Model 3 performance does it in 3.1s.

Our R1T does it in 3.0s, which is 3 acceleration boost packs faster than the acceleration boosted Model 3.

Even if a boost pack was made available, it would be traction not power that would be the factor in getting into the 2s as it already is. Some stickier, wider tires might do it even with the existing software.
I do partially agree with you here Re: Traction. I have the 22's and they definitely can't handle any more power under 20mph but if Rivian was able to feed in some more power from 20-60 I think it could really make a difference. I'd also like to see this option bump up the speed limiter to 120 so it can run out the back of the 1/4 mile....

I haven't ran it on the track but did some test runs. Do you think there's a limitation on the gearing there? Meaning is it a power limitation, or are the motors maxed because of the way it's geared towards acceleration? The Tacan does a good job of resolving that with the gearbox so just curious.

I haven't ran it on the track but did some test runs. Do you think there's a limitation on the gearing there? Meaning is it a power limitation, or are the motors maxed because of the way it's geared towards acceleration? The Tacan does a good job of resolving that with the gearbox so just curious.
The way that mine just totally stops at 111mph leads me to believe it is a hard software limitation and not anything mechanical like gearing. If I had to guess (total speculation) this truck should be good for at least 130mph without software limitation. They likely just don't want a 7k pound truck going that fast for other reasons, which make sense.

If you're going to compare times, you need to use the correct times (1 ft rollout). Stock model 3 LR is 3.9 seconds, with boost it's 3.5, and performance is 3.1.

I measured 3.2 in my R1T with only 83% battery and some wheel spin.

Pre-production trucks were described as pulling the same all the way up to ~130 mph. That's supposedly about the limit of the drivetrain.
