We have a few inflatable stand up paddle boards we love taking on trips but they came with a hand pump that is really a pain to use for multiple boards. I had just used Rivian compressor to pump up a kids pool floaty last week and had an epiphany that if I could get an adaptor to connect my compressor to the tube that came with the pump I could be lazy and set the Rivian compressor to 15 psi and let it do the work. The tube has a proprietary connection that attaches to the board but the other end is a standard garden hose size. They make an adapter that will connect a compressor to a garden hose/faucet/irrigation system to blow the water out for winter. Of course I found one on Amazon for <$10 and it works like a charm. I hope this saves at least one of you from having to manually pump up your inflatable SUP or kayak on trips

Here are pictures of the hand pump with the hose attachment, the adapter, the adapter connected to the hose, and the setup in action.

Here is a link to the adapter.

Nice, didn’t see that. I guess I can use the one I bought to winterize my hose reels with my pancake compressor too so that’s a bonus.

I’ve been looking to try this. But I heard on other threads the volume requirement needed means it takes forever with the Rivian pump. Maybe it works better for an SUP but I have a pretty large kayak. Might be worth a shot, though.

My other option is a dedicated electronic pump that’s made to do the volume for a kayak. Problem is most are either battery powered or have a 12V plug and I’d prefer a 120V plug since that’s what’s in the back of the R1T.

It only took a few minutes for the SUP. I’m sure part of that is the psi requirement, I only did 15 for my test.

This is what I have... works great so far! Though with the on-board compressor gauge inaccuracy, I set it to about 10 psi first just to make sure it doesn't over-pressurize (this usually ends up pretty close to 15).
