In general, the consensus is that there isn't really a bad setup to be had. There was an owner with a dual motor standard pack with 21in "range" wheels that went everywhere the owner with a quad motor/large pack and 20in AT's went. There was one owner on the November trip this year that had nearly bald tires and he went everywhere as well. The trucks are absurdly capable in every trim. I think we've had every motor/pack combo on the trail as well at this point. In general, you'll find the limit of your driving before you find the limit of the truck.Incredible trip and info you shared thank you. After doing the course what was the general consensus of the best setup for off roading in the R1T? Dual Motor stock, Dual motor Performance, or Quad Motor?
The only caveat is that we have lost 4 tires to punctures/flats in 3 events, and it's never been a 20in AT owner. It's always been a 21 or 22in owner. We also had a member break a tie rod on a hill climb, and that was a quad motor truck on 22's.
Also, as a reference, we had professional drivers as guides for that trip, they were in jeep wranglers and jeep gladiators. They had to use rear lockers a few times but never had to use the front lockers. We were mostly on "green" and light "Blue" trails within the off road park.
