I'm in a state that Rivian cannot lease in (Maine). I'm wondering about trying to use something like a Montana vehicle LLC to secure the lease and then having the vehicle registration moved to my primary state shortly thereafter.
Would I run into any issues with this? I'm not sure if you can even lease through a Montana vehicle LLC, but just looking for other options.
Also, I should note that I'm not looking to avoid any taxes, registration costs, or be dishonest with any parties about where the vehicle is garaged. If I have to keep it in Montana for a short period I'm okay with that. If I could take delivery elsewhere and have the lease transferred within the 90 days I'm on Illinois temp tags, that would be ideal, though. I'm just not sure if I would run into issues where Chase isn't able to move the lease the Maine (but I do realize this would come with a tax cost/higher lease payment than I would initially have with it registered in Montana).
