@atebit I thought you used Guthriesville Tires in the past, I’ve used them twice. Have you had problems there, or just looking for something cheaper?

I’ve only used them for state inspection. But yes, my guess is that they’re going to be expen$ive. :)

Reviving the thread, no one I’ve called including Gutheriesville can recalibrate the cameras after the alignment. Anyone else have any recommendations?

When I got my alignment done at Gaithersburg a few months ago, I don’t remember Rivian putting anything about a camera calibration on the paperwork. Do the cameras need calibration after an alignment, I haven’t noticed anything different (although I don’t really use Driver+)

The shops I call that say their rack has the software to do the actual alignment tell me in the next breath that “it also says that the cameras require recalibration and we can’t do that”. ?‍♂

Not challenging that the documentation says camera recalibration is required, but am curious as to the reason. What relationship to wheel alignment can the cameras possibly have?

I had mobile service out yesterday, and they confirmed the Malvern, PA, service center would be operational soon. No exact date, but it is in the final stages.

Interesting and living in Delco, and presently having only Brooklyn or Gaithersburg, MD as options, I hope it happens soon.

I have a service ticket for about seven minor items and when I contacted CS earlier this week to ask again about changing to Trenton (am booked in MD), also asked about Malvern. The rep told me he knew nothing about Malvern and that Trenton wasn't taking any bookings for routine service due to their volume. Mobile service is also not an option (not sure why) so for now, it's either Gaitherburg or Brooklyn. The appointment is not until the end of October, so there's a chance things could change by then.

I'm curious about how Rivian may have gotten around the regulations that prohibit motor vehicle manufacturers selling directly from having physical service or sales operations in the Commonwealth. As far as I'm aware, that prohibition hasn't changed but I'd love to learn otherwise. Tesla was able to get an exemption to operate a number of centers (six or eight), and I thought that after that happened, the Legislature, under pressure from the dealers lobby, amended the exemption so that it could not be expanded.

Lucid has opened facilities (both showroom and service) in the KoP area. So there must be a way forward. South Carolina and North Carolina also had restrictions but in the recent investor presentation four facilities in those two states were shown by end of 2025. So something has changed.
