Anyone pass power wire through Firewall yet?

Sorry, I'm installing additional "parking sensors" in the front. No crime in that. I'll look for the pass thru tonight.

I will be doing the same with some AL Priority parking sensors…so report back on what you find (dont have my truck yet).

I ended up installing only the front sensors and used the bluetooth module. Left all of the hardware in the frunk and power was the 12volt socket in the frunk. Very easy install.

Rivian stopped putting the 12v outlet in the fronk, super stupid but I have heard rumors the wiring is there just have to put a hole and receptacle in. I tried to run a cooler in the fronk for a while, got too hot and I killed the cooler. Maybe that is why it went away, super bummer though.

I added a 12V socket in the frunk using the existing wiring.

My truck (vin 137xx) no longer had the wires present behind the lamp for the deleted 12v socket. Don't know if they changed the harness or if mine was trimmed much farther back than others...

Found it on eBay. It's a takeoff from a Ford, didn't say which model.

Anyone know when this 12v outlet in the frunk is on? Is it all time or based on when the truck is "on" bonus points for defining "truck is on". normaly I would just hit it with a test light real quick but I can never tell when my truck is "on" or not.

What the heck are “laser shifters”?

It's a countermeasure against police speed measuring devices that use lasers instead of traditional radar, which gives them a vehicles speed instantly if they hit accurately. Laser spreaders/shifters are highly illegal in some states, as are radar detectors.

You can save a lot of money just using Waze while driving anywhere with other cars on the road and slowing down as the marked LEO locations are approached. I haven't needed a radar detector in years. They're nice to have, though they won't do much against laser except alert you that you've already been tagged and the cop knows your speed already. Laser shifters are for the people who give no fucks and want to speed excessively everywhere with relative impunity. You can still get pulled over, of course, but you can argue a ticket if the cop can't verify your actual speed due to their laser "not working" due to being countered by the spreaders hidden on your vehicle.

Getting ready to start my install shortly. Was there an easy route for the cables to the shifters in the front? Also, how well is the Bluetooth connector working now that you have some time on it? Is it 100% reliable?

Sorry, I never really looked hard in the frunk, but if there is a 12v lighter plug that should suffice to tap into. I am installing some laser shifters in the front. I would prefer to have a controller on the inside of the car. If not, I can power it from the frunk and use my phone as the controller via a bluetooth module. I'll keep you guys posted.

Are you using Laser Interceptor jammers? If yes, please post your guide/process. Already received 1 ticket too many since ownership.

UPDATE: I poked around at that grommet and IF they are to be used as passthroughs for aftermarket wiring or future Rivian accessories, I think you would need to poke through and pierce the rubber. I didn't have the courage to do that just yet...

I was poking around my dashboard this weekend and came to the same conclusion. I was trying to get a second set of hands but no luck. Maybe I can get help next weekend!
