App or button for kneel mode?

Is there any way to change the R1S Gen 1 height from outside (an app or something)? I would like to raise it on walk away to lower the chance of dents and lower it when walking up.

There is not a way to change this height other than from within the vehicles.

FYI, "Kneel" is the same height as the "Low" setting, so there's still plenty of ground clearance, and little to no risk of damage.

That's too bad. It would be great to be able to raise and lower from outside.

I'm pretty sure the reason why they don't allow this is to keep someone from accidentally (or on purpose?!) lowering the vehicle when someone is under it.

Sure, but they could set up proximity settings and warnings.

I like the idea that you could jack the vehicle up to max height while you were in the store to reduce the chance someone is going to put a big ding in your door, then come back out and have it kneel so everyone could get in! I'm guessing the lawyers still won't like the idea of auto kneel in the off chance you aren't paying attention to the person sleeping under your vehicle when you come out of the store, so this will never happen!
