This feels like some mild victim blaming (not the right words, but same premise).

My armrest looks just like OPs. Have ~9,800 miles and a little less than 6mo ownership. Very VERY limited use with bare skin (You know, because it's cold in Buffalo from October to March).

Unlike OP though, I've opened a ticket and mobile service will be here in ~10days. We'll see what they say.
The ring was his fault; the second half was meant to be more of a funny tongue-in-cheek comment.

We’ve had our R1S just over a year. We’ve had the main battery replaced, we still have auto-acceleration issues from time to time, often can get into drive. Now we’re seeing wear on the armrest and flaking on the steering wheel bottom post.

The wear is only from use at 15K miles. I can’t believe they’re asking >$100K for this car now.

Same issues here, replaced under warranty 4 months ago. My steering wheel wear was way worse. April 2023 delivery, 25K miles. Edit, I don't wear rings and am the only driver.
