Ooh, thanks for the trip report. I have a very similar trip planned, hopefully later this summer, with a side trip to Haida Gwaii included. And while *I* am sure it's possible with suitable planning, I still need to convince my wife ...
The Rivian nav only knows about certain charging networks. MANY are missing. I do all my trip planning in ABRP, which include all of the chargers you mention and all of the networks, then I use the Rivian nav for just the point-to-point navigation.
As far as the ferry glitch, I have seen this many times with GPS receivers on the ferry and also the plane - when you lose signal for a long time and your new position is significantly different than your last known position, GPS has a hard time re-acquiring the satellites. It is actually much quicker for it to start from scratch (reboot) rather than use a "known" but incorrect position as the first estimate. If you expect this to happen, then you can look at the map ahead of time and familiarize yourself with the new location enough to get you on the right road out of there without waiting for the GPS. Road signs are useful too.
