I’m the (generally) happy* owner of July 2025 R1S (Gen 2 build)—Dual/Max. I received an offer from Rivian today on a California Dune edition and includes XPEL at no costs. The remaining few are in a warehouse and wrapped. *I say generally happy because, like many, I’ve had my issues but, in fairness, the new software updates may have just improved my ‘premium’ sound system to an acceptable performance level and the hands free driving works surprisingly well (although still boys, not as good as super cruise…yet).

So, with the significant electrical structural upgrades to Gen2, does anyone have their ear to the ground in terms of 2026 ‘refresh’ in the form of anything material? I’m not wanting to upgrade to a Tri to see a summer of little updates coming like my missing head’s up display…..well, yes, missing only because they don’t offer one… yet….

Thanks all!

Anything someone says is just a complete guess. I doubt Heads up is coming since there have been zero mentions of it, it isn't in the R2 or R3. Could the steering wheel change to the R2 style, sure but it doesn't have too.

There are no rumors of changes for 2026, they only just did the Gen 2 update. Surprised changing after only 8 months.

Only thing for certain is a NACS port, which has no benefit [other than psychological] until all charging networks convert to SAE J3400 fully (aka NACS).
