Looking for suggestions to upgrade the horn on the 2025 R1S. RealWheels has upgrades for up to 2024, but nothing for 2025 so far.

Looks like they haven't released it yet. Not shown on Website.
And that was a gen1 and very old post. Likely will never release a kit. @RealWheelsEV was working on a gen2 kit but gone quiet. Must have encountered technical hurdles. Ask them. Should be able to piggyback a 12V horn, just like factory one (same frequency or higher), using a Y-splitter without risk of blowing fuses or triggering errors. Frunk disassembly is probably similar to gen1. And you should be able to locate stock horn by looking at front for its opening. Factory horn is 300 Hz, IIRC. I’d recommend a second higher pitched one, to cut through background noise better.

At 112dB they will be heard!

I'm on a R1S Dual Large Gen 2. Anyone have experience upgrading the single horn to a dual horn set-up? Details please with pics. tia

As soon as I get a weekend with some extra time, my plan is to install a PIAA Superior Bass horn set to replace my single horn (Gen1). I'm hoping to simply unplug the single horn and plug this setup in, then have beer to either celebrate my success or comfort my failure!

For Gen1 it's a relatively simple plug and play using existing circuit and fuse. The only difficulty is disassembly of the frunk tub and those annoying plastic clips that tend to be 1-time use only. If your factory horn is at the passenger side you may not even need to do that. As you can get access through the passenger wheel well.

Gen2 are trickier since they have e-fuses? And not much has been shared regarding mods. But I'd imagine it shouldn't be a problem unless you are trying to install a horn that require a dedicated power source, like an air horn.

Have you tried calling Real Wheels? I've found them to be very helpful. If nothing else, they can tell you why they aren't releasing a 2025 Gen 2 horn so you'll know what challenges you may face if you try and do something on your own.

Yes, changed email with them. Evidently, they've been working on it, but no success for some reason.

Not sure a Gen 1 vs. a Gen 2 (mine) will help, but I admire the post, it's pretty funny.

FWIW I just added a single 500hz Hella horn that has a USCAR connector (Ford/Chevy) to our 2025 R1S and it’s working fine so far. I made a USCAR to DT 2 pin adapter and connected it to one leg of a DT splitter. The USCAR/DT adapter goes to the new Hella horn, the other DT leg goes straight into the stock horn. My horn was located on the passenger side so it was easy to access by pulling back the fender liner, no frunk removal. I used the supplied brackets from the Hella horn to remount the two horns side by side using the original mounting hole. No spliced wires, water tight, and easily reversible. Pics and before/after sound clips if it helps, along with parts list. Less than $50 total and about an hour to install. The only thing I would change is getting a slightly longer DT splitter, maybe 10-12” vs the 7.5’s I got to make horn adjustment easier.

Hella Horns (Part #011225921 - USCAR pair, couldn’t find any singles so now I have an extra 400Hz horn)
